Its been widely reported that the play was covered, the coverage was either knocked down or fell down.

The non-FG against Michigan.. And we win how? At this point you don't know if Crist is going to be cleared to play. You are down by 2 TDs with Michigan getting the ball back right after half. Haven't stopped them all game. IMO you really have no choice.

I'll give you the flea flicker, that was a head scratcher.

Weis was never a head coach, offensive genius but never a leader of men.

I watched the play. There was one guy back, and he bit. That's not the D that should have been called. It's a 46 yd FG in OT. You give them that shot and cover the goal. 1 man back is unnaceptable.

IMO, you always take the points going to half. Especially with a guy who's carried equipment more than the ball. If we take the points (considering he makes the kick of course), and everything else remains the same, then we are kicking to win the game. If Crist doesn't come back it really doesn't matter at all since the 2 backups couldn't play for my local HS team, so why not take the points in preparation? I just can't see how it's better to take a 500 mile longshot than the points. It's a bad call and it cost them.

Those are the decisions that need to be made correctly if this team is to be a threat in any season. Weiss got the calls right 50% of the time and I was hoping Kelly would be different. They look to be both of the same train of thought- which is that they are coaching better talent then they are.

You can't say everything stays the same. You do not know if Crist is coming back or not. At that point they were still unsure. When in doubt you need to use the worst case scenario. And who knows if that FG gets blocked, or blocked and run back for a TD... Cannot predict it. Worst case scenario is you get nothing and they score right out of the box. So the score goes from 21-7 to 21-10 to 28-10. Still need 3 scores.

Seriously NDOM. Its times like this i hate you. Did you expect a National Championship this year? Did you expect us to start 6-0 even? If thats the case we will see you next year. What you do is pick yourself up and play your *** off next week. Otherwise your just a quitter.

Kelly may have a decent resume, but our 2 losses this year fall half on his shoulders, factually speaking.

Decent resume? LOL. Name your resume. He's won everywhere he's been. He's been on a career ladder, and pretty much everyone ex ept for some idiotic, delusional ND fans were on board with this hire. And I still love this hire.

And where are your 'facts'? How the hell is this 'factually speaking'??? It's ALL subjective. We all have our opinions, but none of us are there in practice or on the sidelines. It's crazy....but maybe, just maybe, the players had something to do with it, maybe even more than 'half'.

There are countless other decisions that confound me in all three games.

Countless? OK, name them. You named 3, one of which you were completely wrong in (they had the play covered, but they didn't execute. Guess what...the players eff up sometimes). I'd love to hear all these 'countless' mistakes.

wow interesting posts...

I must admit I was not excited about BK when first hired. HOWEVER I stand corrected...he is what our team needs...I like all his calls...and if they work people are calling him brilliant. We are three F***** games into the season- and we are not only competitive we are a play or two away from 3-0. I am a BK fan...and he will bring ND back to where we belong....

OMG OMG OMG !!!!!

I want to revise my predictions for this year too! ND will lose the rest of their games this year by larger and larger margins each week (WMU will set an NCAA record for most points scored which gets broken every week after)...they won't even exit the tunnel versus USC and just forfeit it. By game nine our equipment manager will just start throwing all the equipment into the stands as he yells the players don't use it correctly anyway. The guys won't get down into stances by then and BK will be using ape soldiers with nets just to keep the players from escaping from the sidelines. At the end of the season, we'll find out the BK is really George O'Leary wearing a bad fitting mask and nobody even noticed.

This team is a rotten, good for nothing, no talent sham coached by frauds perpetrated on us God fearing/Loving ND fans who know exactly what is best for our team on a second-by-second basis!

/SARCASM!!!!!!!

Here is my true heartfelt notions:

"Let's all gather 'round. I'm not much for giving inspirational addresses, but I'd just like to point out that every newspaper in the country has picked us to finish last. The local press seems to think that we'd save everyone the time and trouble if we just went out and shot ourselves. Me, I'm for wasting sportswriters' time. So I figured we ought to hang around for a while and see if we can give 'em all a nice big sh!tburger to eat! "

It's "the sky is falling" people that gives Notre Dame such as bad rep.

You guys are worthless fans that are spoiled and want everything hand fed.

I'm sick of you non-supportive ND "fans". You guys are a joke.

New Offense, New Defense, New Staff, New QB, AND TWO LOSSES (One loss with 45 seconds to go, and the other in OT)

What is wrong?

ND is doing fine, above my expectations both offensively and defensively.

ND will get 6-7 wins. They are just heating up. You can literally see on every play were players like Crist and Riddick are getting better and better.

Calm down ignorant fans, and quit giving ND a bad reputation. You are truly embarrassing to the University.

I'll support ND if they were 0-12, because life is more than football.

Were the Detroit Lions of college football. Where great talent goes to die. And the team that always grabs defeat from the jaws of victory.

You have been more right than wrong with your doom and gloom so I am going to pick on your typing. Check out the FREAKING BUTTON JUST TO THE RIGHT OF THE SEMI-COLON! Yes I am being overly dramatic because, until proven wrong, NDOM has probably been a pretty good prophet for about four years now.

Thank you for saying this....very well said. Its no wonder why people hate notre dame fans, some of us are modest and realize that we are not a top 25 team right. Others realize that to get back to where we used to be its going to take some time. The most important part is seeing improvement every week and giving Kelly a chance to install his system and stay off his A$$ while hes doing it. If we are having this same conversation in two more years then its probably becuase Kelly has failed.... Lets not blow this out of proportion. Notre dame is a solid program with high expectations but they have some work to do.

The fact is, no coach can come into a program and turn it around in 3 games after installing two new systems. It doesnt work like that.

Tyrone did, just sayin.

With that said, I still think we win 9 games this year.

Stanford, BC, Pitt, Navy, Utah and USC are the teams we need to worry about.

I see 5-1 more likely than 1-5 from what I have seen so far this year. I don't think either are PROBABLE. Hell I think 6-0 is more likely than 1-5. We have to go minimum 1-1 vs Navy and BC plus one more win from the other four.

I think we go 4-2 or 3-3 against this group to finish either 8-4 or 7-5 as the most likely outcomes for our team. I don't really see a losing record happening without some big injury problems.

No! It's blind homers who think ND is going to win 9, 10, or 11 games a year on top of the media plastering ND every where that give ND a bad rep to other fans..

I'm sick of you non-supportive ND "fans". You guys are a joke.

Some people are tired of mediocrity. They are also tired of watching talented kids come to ND and disappear. South Bend is like the bermuda triangle.

Heating up! If you think so! I still think this team is only a 5 win team maybe 6 at best. Crist getting better every play, I think that a little bit of a stretch. He's still over throwing or under throwing his recievers. Though he goes through his progressions which is a pluse.

Calm down ignorant fans, and quit giving ND a bad reputation. You are truly embarrassing to the University.

Ya the University really reads these boards..

UHHHHH..... I really dont even know how to actually respond to that comment. He won games over bad opponents, with smoke and mirrors....that season was way too magical to be true for a long period of time....Willingham couldn't handle the pressure and he had a lot of luck that season....

Purdue might be the only team Kelly ever beats at ND. We'll go 1-11, and he will be fired.

Tyrone Willingham turned our program around? Really? Please explain to me how Tyrone Willingham turned the corner for the University of Notre Dame? By the way, where is this mastermind coach, with the ability to drop a new system and turn a program around coaching at the moment?

O my god, he was kidding!

(By the way, anybody who thought Charlie Weis was responsible for all of ND's problems and a new coach, any new coach, would fix everything right away deserves to be wallowing in misery right now.)

Oh yea, definitely. There is no way BK could have made this team a NC contender this year. The part, I think, that is most frustrating to people, is that it looks like we should have beaten these two teams, and when you look at the rest of the schedule, we could easily fall further than the 8-4, 9-3 season many were expecting. So while it is absolutely foolish to think we wouldn't lose a few games, the way we lost and who we lost to is the troubling part of it. They are correctable mistakes which are costing us the games, so we might not be doomed yet, but these last two weeks have been incredibly frustrating when looking at the next three weeks, and the two late season match-ups.

I am not so sure that these are the "worry" games. We will most likely be the underdog in all 6 of these games. The games that actually WORRY me are Western Michigan, Tulsa, and Army. Those are the games we absolutely and in no way, shape, or form can lose. At this point, those are not "gimme" games either. Will we most likely win? Yes. And hopefully with some ease. However, with this young team and new systems, nothing is guaranteed. Much like the Syracuse game in '08. We should have stomped that team and it didn't work out so well.

If we come out against the six teams shown above and are competitive, but still lose, we can feel okay about the team much like many of us have so far this season. However, I don't care how great we look, if we lose to the other three...OH LORD! I seriously might consider jumping off the ledge.

Yea, there's no doubt that the last two losses have felt like missed opportunities. I can understand the frustration (I haven't been able to sleep for two saturdays in a row). But big picture, its much more important how we finish this year than how we started.
