Crazy thing I read on ISD is that the reason we couldn’t enforce the BK buyout is because his contract stipulated when certain projects/improvements would be done and ND didn’t meet those benchmarks so the buyout was null and void.

Shocking.

Glad after a few hours sleep there's little to sift through. Should make for an interesting weekend. Better stop at the liquor store on the way back from work and get a big bottle of Tito's

Being a fan of a team we love? This wasn't the vibe a week ago.

My point being the vitrol needs to be directed at the assholes abusing us fans.
My point is simply that so long as we fans continue to pump money into the program, nothing will change. They're running it like a business that's only concerned about bottom line and nothing more, national championships be damned. If we want them to change, we need to send a message by hitting them where they care - the wallet.

From things I know, apparently taking a shot at Alex Mirabal. A poster on 247 also mentioned it yesterday

Marcus Freeman is a deep state agent in the CFB coaching fraternity just trying to get all these assistants with no actual intent of leaving fat salary increases.

Is this the obligatory name everyone gets excited about before we ultimately settle (and subsequently justify) hiring Watt? Asking for a friend.
I think it’s supposed to work the other way. At least for smart pr

Its debatable. I just wanted to point out that contrary to popular belief, they are trying to go outside of the program.

It's all fun and games until Freeman needs support from admin.
I understand, I am just pointing out that they are taking a chance on a great coach that we have 1% chance of landing. There has to be some level of support if this move was approved.

Living in Miami and being married to a Cane, I normally would say there is a 0.000000000000% chance of this happening.
  1. Mirabal is Cristobal's best friend, dating back to high school (where the two attended Columbus).
  2. Mirabal has been everywhere with MC everywhere, pretty much.
  3. He's also the AHC and making really good money.
  4. Miami has had a ton of staff turnover this year and would open the checkbook to keep one of Cristobal's key lieutenants.
  5. He was born and raised in Miami.
The ONLY -- and I have no idea how realistic this is -- way that this MIGHT happen would stem from Miami's recent hiring of Shannon Dawson as OC from Houston. Last year's Miami staff was a jumbled mess; there was no continuity and they basically just went out and got "big names" (hello, Charlie Strong as LB coach) that didn't fit together, nor had they ever worked together.

If Cristobal gave autonomy to Dawson to bring in his own guys, to include OL, I could see it perhaps being a possibility.

But...I just don't see it.

I agree. I just wanted to point out to the insufferable Watt posters that they are looking elsewhere first.
