If ISD posted intel saying he’s had a change of heart then disregard, but didn’t Luke walk away because he didn’t want to do the grind while raising his kids?

I doubt a year later he’s just gonna up and leave or move his family to South Bend.

He’s worked at Ole Miss most of the last 20 years. South of the Mason Dixon for all of it.

Crazy thing I read on ISD is that the reason we couldn’t enforce the BK buyout is because his contract stipulated when certain projects/improvements would be done and ND didn’t meet those benchmarks so the buyout was null and void.

Why is ND so cheap? Does Jack's contract pay him more for spending less? I just don't understand how money could be an issue both in terms of meeting contractual obligations and recruiting/retaining talent.

Yeah, unfortunately the "spend time with my family" line is used so much any more, it's tough to figure out how long that means. Some guys say it, and they mean it. Some guys say it and then 4 weeks later they're on to the next venture. The fact that Luke sat out this cycle of hires leads me to believe it was a pretty genuine statement by him. The dude could land a job in 5 mins if he wants one.

If it's Watt, I will be happy for him. Guy played here and seems to love the University. I hope we get a guy with more experience and Watt can be the next guy. I just hope it doesn't turn into a bash session all over social media when he's hired. Not fair to him. It's different from the Peter Parker hiring.
