I still don’t get the why of this move from Denbrock, but if MF can get him that makes the expectations for next year sky high.
Been said by the II guys that he would like to be back in the Midwest and is very fond of ND.

Once again, Denbrock or GTFO!

Guy has experience and won’t get pressured to make the right call in critical situations. His experience along with Golden’s gives MF two vets to bounce ideas off of and learn from.

You have all talked me into Denbrock and I’m on board with it….so I’m now ready for MFMF to kick me in the nuts and hire Brian Ferentz.

However, a year of seeing Gino Guidugli's playcalling is enough to make even me miss Denbrock's offense, despite the fact that BOTH of the teams I root for have struggled through his OC leadership.

Driskell mentioned Denbrock and Parker hard pass on both

Yeah please not Denbrock. He was fine but he had his turn. We should be able to do better.

Denbrock was very under appreciated evaluating and recruiting WR’s. But, he wouldn’t be my top choice.
^This guy's consistent in his thoughts.

Denbrock No, Parker No.

Hope it's not Denbrock.

But yes I hope the unnamed OC is someone better than Denbrock.

Lol a lot changes in a year

So what do we think guys? Because of the OC fiasco last year, is this going to be one of those searches where we don't know anything until a hire is imminent?

And if we want to get technical, Brian Kelly was brought back too.
No, technically BK has not been brought back for the 2024 season.

That said....I wasn't posting here then, but I'm sure everyone was thrilled BK was back in 2017, right?

Not sure what part of his post could have confused you, but yes, Brian Kelly was brought back….for 201… which rebutts your comment.

Where did I say I was confused? His "technicality" misrepresents my point and BK being brought back in 2017 doesn't have much to do with this hire. BK didn't get fired, that's different from being fired and brought back. If the problem is I didn't clearly make that distinction, I don't care.

To say it a different way...It's not the same. BK isn't here anymore, and isn't getting rehired. Denbrock wasn't here anymore and has been rehired. In today's world of 2023, I would have preferred ND went in a different direction. Again....I hope I'm wrong.

To be even more clear, but different.....It's about to be 2024, and I would prefer not to have any coordinator/co-coordinator/assistant head coach/head coach from the 2016 team hired as a current coach. People don't agree....¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

You’ve already said that, which doesn’t make sense since Denbrock has a long resume beyond that one year. Who did you want?

Are you sure I said what I said? I can say it all again in a different way if you'd like?

...the term "decision maker" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in my statement.

I appreciate your idealism.
If Denbrock's resume had him at another school in 2016 with everything else the same, would you be okay with this hire?

Probably not. I wouldn't want Chip Long back if he was a superbowl winning OC

But ND is unique right?

Edit- I misread this comment. I thought the question was if Denbrock was fired in the same way from a different school. Not if he wasn't involved with 2016.

"Probably not"? Then why even bring up his previous stint? Just say what in his coaching "technique, offensive philosophy, recruiting, etc." you're not down with.
