First quarter was sluggish for Book. But obviously the second and third quarter was a different story. I was disappointed with the amount of hits book took especially in the pocket. I was perplexed with the lack of separation from the receivers early on as well.

It was great to see Davis Von and Crawford make some plays. They all three seem like great guys who deserved a moment like that.

Loved Phil’s throw to Lenzy. Excited to see him as QB 1 next year. Having Clark and Pyne next year will be a stacked qb room.

Still don’t think we have what it takes offensively to take done Georgia. Just hoping we keep it close.

Offensively:
- We need to run more pistol or under C. Both in the run game but for the play action pass.
- Tony Jones is a nice player but he’s part of the problem in short yardage.
- Injuries on offense are taking its toll. Jafar and Kmet are missed.
- When they opened up the playbook, the offense was much better. Who knows how that will look versus UGA, but it should be part of the post game analysis.
- I do think the offense is deep at WR, I think we should do more substituting there. Or, at least until Kmet comes back, use more WR’s.

Defensively:
- I think we will or should substitute less on defense.
- Disappointed in the lack of production from Okwara but Hayes is playing his butt off. Kelly called it.
- Need to settle on LB’s and CB’s for UGA. Would be surprised if they didn’t. At least for a majority of that game.
- Ade O is playing really well.
- Would’ve liked to see Lamb get base snaps today. Seems like a missed opportunity with all the snaps everyone else got.
- The 3T position flashed today, both MTA and Jayson A.

We have what it takes to beat UGA, no doubt in my mind about that. But, we need better execution. And we need our “dudes” to show up against theirs. Okwara, Kareem, Book, Gilman, Elliot, Pride, Claypool, etc, need to play like it.

The balance on offense concerns me. Our running today was not great. Avery had a brilliant finish to a great call, but we some RBs that are very young and an OL that is questionable on the run game. Our receiving group and Tremble look pretty beastly. If the game was won on passing alone, I would say we have plenty of weapons to hang with Georgia. Unfortunately, our OL/backs are not a huge threat at the moment.

In fact, over the last 3 games, have Ade and Hayes looked better than Kareem and Okwara? Not saying they’re better talents but the production seems to be pretty close.

Not sure what we should take from this. We can't afford to not show up for a quarter against Georgia.

It looks like sweeps and misdirections leave us exposed. We rarely have a defender following the moving target. DL has me worried. We heard all offseason how our DEs would be all world and against some of the worst competition we'll see all season, they've been good-ish.

Book needs to keep his mindset from the 2nd/3rd quarter and apply it to the rest of the season. So does Long.

Well it took a quarter and a half for our offense to leave the Lobos in their tracks.

We need as many healthy as possible and for everyone available to bring their A game next saturday at Georgia.

Offense...
-I got trust issues against a team like UGA because EVERYTHING today seemed like an explosive play...sustained drives seem not in the cards right now...and I don't think there will be but maybe 2 or 3 explosive plays at best next week.
-O-line not clean, and not dominant, particularly on 3rd down. RB play on short yardage is not great but we'd do these guys a huge favor to get under center, and pull them up closer to the line...they are all strong, but none real quick or real fast. This business of handing them the ball 4 yards deep...not working real well, and will work less well against UGA.
-Book seemed a little better, but he can't wait til mid second quarter to get comfortable.
-pretty clear there are explosive players on O...
-young QBs did just fine

Defense...
struggled early to get the ball carrier on the ground, like almost never on first contact, and many missed TFLs. Thats concerning when you plug in Swift running the ball.
-Angles were still pretty bad resulting in some of the missed TFLs and longer plays.
-dbacks were nice in pass coverage ...mostly.

...for playoff aspirations, if UGA wasn't a must win, it became one today as BYU just stole one from USC, and Stanford had their pants pulled down and got bare ass spanked in front of the world. Strength of schedule just took a shot.

I've got to actually see the game, followed it on ESPN gameplay but it seems like big defensive plays are covering up for what has been a less than dominant defense the first two games.

-QB: Book looked pretty good. I'll take 60+%, 5 TDs and no INTs any day. Seems to be progressing on the long ball and also looked more comfortable in the pocket. Distributed to a lot of different guys.

-WR: I love what Claypool and McKinley are doing, but I also want to see more of the speed guys. If we prioritize possession passing vs UGA, we're not going to get the same kind of YAC, and.... we're going to get kicked in the nuts. We'll need more separation next week.

RB: Very scary. When 3 of your 4 top rushers are QBs vs NM, something is wrong. NM is a team our OL should blow holes in, and even Brian Kelly should be able to run for 100... What's the over/under for RB rushing yards vs UGA? Our RBs only rushed for 49 today IIRC.

TE: With the talent we have, injuries or not, I expect more use/production. 2 TE receptions?

OL: Didn't impress me. They should have dominated all day, including the 2nd string...

DB: Loved seeing the INTs. QB play was pretty awful from NM though.

LB: Surprised Bilal led Ts. Bauer looked good in his reps.

DL: Hayes and J Ade looked good. Guessing they rotated a bunch to keep guys fresh for UGA. Not really impressed overall given it was NM.

Play calling: I just hope this was just a very vanilla game plan and we're holding back all the good stuff for UGA. If our studs don't show up next week and produce at a high level, it's going to get pretty ugly. I have a bad feeling UGA RBs are going to have a very good day. Unless we use our quicker WRs, Book is going to have a really tough day.

Going to watch the game again. Didn’t like the long runs by NM and the lack of runs besides Book and Davis. RBs look slow and week. Hoping at least Jamir returns for Georgia. Loved McKinnley play today. Dude is big. Not impressed with Phil outside his one long pass. Daelin balled out but not seeing anything’s from Okwara and Kareem yet. JOK is a monster hitter but needs to ,earn how to play smarter FB. Will add comments later.

Yes Ade and Hayes are playing better than Kareem and Okwara.
I’m very concerned w the lack of push the O Line is getting. Converting 3rd and short is a struggle against inferior opponents. That won’t cut it next week or against really good teams down the line.
D Vaughn is going to get picked on next week.
The offense put up 59 despite the absence of Armstrong, Kmet, Young and Austin. New Mexico is bad but that’s still pretty impressive. Austin wasn’t even mentioned as a missing piece today when they were addressing those that are out. I hope he returns and is a force.
Concerned but hopeful for next week.

We did have another 100 yards on the two jet sweeps that were considered passes because they were forward flips by Book. But scheme wise and blocking wise they are runs. Add that to our rushing and it looks a lot better.

But the power run game isn't there and that will make it very difficult to beat Ga.

I don’t expect to see much of Vaughn next week. First corner off the bench will be Bracy.

McKinley and Lenzy need to play more.

I thought Bilal played well today.

I didn’t like the game camera at all.

Yes, this is true. Thank you for clarifying.

I may have missed this take but, It was Kyle Hamilton's pick6 that changed the outcome of the game and maybe our year. The game's whole outlook took a 180-degree turn. Before that, we had a great Bramblett punt.
Let's hope Hamilton stays healthy.

I'm lovin the sharp suit BK wore on his post-game presser.
I feel he has gotten the memo. He looks and talks like the head coach of our major program.

I’m sorry. We scored 66 to their 14, that gave us some momentum but it was hardly a defining moment in our season or this game.

Momentum changer, game changer, and season changer all seem dramatically different to me. Probably to most.

The offense was a little rough early, but it was nice to see us come around and blow the doors off of someone for once.

Liked: Defensive playmaking/pressure/turnovers. Bilal. Kicking game. Davis/Lenzy/McKinley. Kyle Hamilton. Shaun Crawford. Scoring the most points we have in my lifetime.

Didn't like: O Line struggling to get two yards on 3rd and short. That's going to be a problem.

I hate to nitpick especially when most are drinking but didn’t we blow the doors off multiple teams last year? What is everyone watching that says, “for once”.

Meh, the only team we blew the doors off was Wake Forest. We won several others by decent margins but not like today. Syracuse, FSU, and Navy fall in the latter category.

Haha, only ND fans say shit like that. Its all relative. We beat the #15 team in the country by 33. We were up 28 at half to FSU. Clemson was also up on them 28 at half. You guys make up shit to complain about.

Not complaining. But today was the most points we’ve scored in a game since 1977. And only gave up 14. That’s blowing the doors off a team.

I’d say blowing the doors off a team is beating the #15 team in the country by 33 is the same. Again, it’s relative. We destroyed the spread. And that actually mattered, lol
