JB needs to stop talking like he's giving a report on Channel 5. The other three guys sound like they're grabbing a beer after watching practice, JB sounds like he's trying to dictate a memo.

This is a great way to put it. He does sound like he is standing just outside the football complex with a microphone in hand.

Somebody needs to sit him down and explain to him that 35+ year olds don't act/talk that way

Plus he goes way too long on the contrived personal talk at the beginning of the pods. Have to skip thru the first 5-8 minutes

Jamie U is probably my favorite overall as he justifies his positions and they have substance to them. He also never gets defensive or butt hurt with people. Nor does he get too emotional or whiney after they lose. Seems very even keeled. But he does get sick way too much lol

I was really hopeful Hit and Hustle would grow into a pretty good pod, but I don't feel like they've gotten better at their delivery. The actual content that comes out of that show is usually pretty good, but the entertainment value isn't all that great...Greg's sniffing and Jamie's smacking of his lips drive me bonkers...

Take it FWIW, but I was at an ISD tailgate a few years back, and was told that Lyght brushed off a 5* recruit (wouldn't say who) who showed up on campus, because he was "too busy" with something else.

I totally sympathize with how recruiting has taken over the lives of CFB coaches, and why some choose to bolt to the NFL because of it, but when a 5* with legit interest shows up at your doorstep, doesn't matter if you're making love to your wife, you get out there and pitch your program.

I've seen some short snippets of Brice... He's good.

Pete's good as a quick after game commentary.

Tim & Tim sound good in quick bursts.

If I was to build a pod team that I'd listen to an hour straight it would be Paul Burmeister hosting with Jamie, Brice and my favorite guy, Brian Smith.

If it was talking big picture ND athletic dept like sitting down with Father Bob or AD Pete, I'd go with Sampson.

I’ve enjoyed Brian Smith’s input on Locked On pod. He’s one of the few that knows the history of ND recruiting while also keeping a pulse on today’s world of recruiting.

All the ISD guys need to work on their health. Jamie is always getting COVID. Mike seems to always be dealing w/ a head cold & Greg has rhinitis or a coke problem b/c he’s always got the sniffles.

Carr looked pretty damn impressive for an early enrollee, Singer smokes crack. Angeli put up more stats, but he also didn't have to play for the Gold team at any time. Blue had more weapons to work with. Carr was great on the run, he made some beautiful throws and stretched the field a bit.

And what do you propose is better for Insider information? Rivals? On3? IB? - it has not been that bad. It is a transition time. It will sort itself out. But Tim Tim and Brice (with Sampson on pods) is clearly the best website all around, period. Not even close.

I'll have to disagree. Its been ass since Toms promotion. Did you happen to see the thread referencing peoples frustrations? A lot of people agree that it hasn't been the same. Kevin or Tim responded in that thread and kept mentioning how early he wakes up in the morning and how hard he works lol. I actually felt bad for the guy. For all of Toms faults, Tim or Kevin is not him.

I certainly agree with you about the podcast, but the podcast is free.

I have no idea which site would be better, as I’ve never subscribed to anyone else. The VIP content II has produced recently isn’t worth the money, IMO.

I signed up for insider information on recruiting, not so much X’s and O’s. The Tims and Brice are good at talking ball and the X’s/O’s. The recruiting info has taken about 10 steps back.

Are you talking about Tim P? The man does work hard as shit, especially for someone his age. Is he dorky and out of touch? Of course, but so was Lou Somogyi (even more so). You have got to respect those elders while we have them. Its ok to be critical and push back against his takes - but at the same time it would be silly to not value his contribution to the fanbase (like Somogyi).

As for the transition period, Tom was great. And I think most non-smooth brains here knew that, and would just throw crap at him out of frustration. We knew that he was the most consistently in touch. Eric Thomas, along with Sinclair, will eventually do a good job too because they have II weight behind them. The University looks favorably upon Tim P and Tim O for that matter and they will get fed and it's in Loy's interest to share his connections with Eric (who already has ND connections). ((also, Eric's new pod with Sinclair tells me he already knows more football than Tom...Tom was more of grinder of the trail and less of the football IQ guy))

***also, football IQ+recruiting work ethic is one reason why I enjoy Ryan Roberts and feel bad he works for Driskell and wish II would have stole him***
