Can someone fill me in on why EJ has a massive hate boner for ND? I know he briefly covered ND recruiting but did something else happen?
He was almost universally reviled by both the fan base and the other ND beat guys and reporters. Not enough ND fans were offering metaphorical BJ's in response to his "Frappuccino" posts when commits were about to happen, and then they were too mean to him when he went open-air douche towards the ND beat in general, especially after he moved on.

Now, in response to Singer putting in a prediction for Moore to ND, Holland is so PISSED about it, that his next three weeks of content will be about ND more than scUM.... even though he covers scUM now. He's going to try and troll ND fans for the perceived slight of Singer predicting Moore to ND, which should tell you everything you need to know about how professional Holland is.

Like all of my former coworkers who worked for Gannett papers, I’d imagine a lot of the allure was “we don’t have to work for a Gannett paper anymore.”
"When a good manager meets a bad business, the bad business always wins"

It is not merely Gannett, but the entire cohort.

The daily newspaper is going the way of the buffalo.

The first robin of newspaper's nuclear dawn was the venerable New Orleans Times Picayune which in 2014 went from a daily to a thrice weekly publication.

It has cultural social implications too. The days of momma and poppa reading articles to each other from the local paper, well that ship has sailed.

Where have you gone Joe Doyle?

If you’ve been following the crootin game for a while could sense Wiltfong was pulling back a little and wasn’t the same, probably good for him. Trieu is the Midwest guy now.

Ta’Mere Robinson – Pittsburgh’s ‘Generational Player’

If a 5th grader turned this in it would get an F. It’s like he doesnt’t read it before publishing. A sampling:

That includes Ta'Mere Robinson who coach Moore describes a nearly unbelievable collectively.

For many high schoolers, a career path is far from prepared.

Much like Robinson seems like he would be a great fit for a variety of positions, in Moore’s eyes, he’d be an exceptional fit for a variety of schools.

Sinclair has to be the worst writer on that site. I cannot fathom what O’Malley and Prister must think when they read his stuff.

Gotta say that was well worth the listen.

Amazing stuff really. Turning down Tony Boselli and John Lynch rank among his biggest regrets.

Especially interesting to hear him say one of the biggest differences between now and then was their number 1 thing they were looking for in recruits was the desire and ability to go to the NFL. Desire and ability to get a great education was firmly in 2nd.

Really good and interesting stuff.

Lynch's family was from Chicago. His Dad was an ND fan and played college football at Drake... well enough to get drafted by the Steelers with Terry Hanratty & Mean Joe Greene. He went on to make a fortune in radio broadcasting.

Can you imagine him back there with Taylor, Carter and that rest of that crew???

Lynch was also a helluva baseball player. A fraternity brother of mine went to HS w/ him. At their most recent reunion, he said Lynch wasn’t much different than the kid they knew in HS. Sounds like a well-rounded, down-to-earth cat.

Fatty Farrell is leaving Rivals after 2 decades.
They got tired of paying him to come up with top 5 lists that nobody asked for?

For an industry with more than it's fair share of creepy adults, this guy is/was the poster boy for that icky feeling.

Does anybody else listen to the ISD podcast? Maybe it’s just me but Freeman comes off as extremely uninterested and not prepared.

I think he just needs polish - I don't know if Mike sends out topics of discussion to him and Jamye but they should review it together to not sound caught off guard. Great written work, just needs some live media training to reduce the "ums" and "uhs." Working on that would make him a lot stronger since he does really well with the other content the site produces.

Jayme might be the best in the business as far as ND analysts goes, really good insight. I know next to nothing about Christian, but Matt always seems annoyed but you're right, might be a polish thing. Mike is hilarious, sky is falling and constantly contradicting himself. He does drive good conversation through.

And annoyed each time Mike asks him a question. He’s like a moody teenage girl a lot of the time.

Lol don't want to hate on Freeman because he seems like a really good guy but yeah, I often think his tone on podcasts is like a co-worker on a Zoom call who thought he could ride out this meeting on mute and gets asked a question out of left field.

Driskel is deservedly dogged on here but the man can bloviate with the best of them in a podcast format.

I’ve been listening to Mike for over a decade now, and I’ve never seen a talking head like that dude.

Some people are just haters, but that isn’t him. He obviously loves Notre Dame, but everything is the absolute end of *everything* to him. Did they give up a touchdown? I’m not sure how the defense is ever going to recover from giving up six points, guys.

I just can't listen to ND Talking Heads doing podcasts or interviews except:

Jamie's thoughts and style are both good. Don't listen to much because it's all rehash of what I've read days before.

Loy & Wiltfong's quickie formats constructed by the Mothership. Get the info in a minute or less, then get out. Would not be interested to listen for 30 minutes.

Risking IE shaming... I'm gonna have to say I like IB's format the best. I like the interactive part of his YT broadcasts when it's live. On the written side, I like the new guy Ryan too.

The new rivals guy is a good interviewer too. Loy and singer I think can mail in a interview sometime to be first whereas this guy always has a detailed one

Ryan Robert's on IB is really good. Made IB worth listening to aging. ISD has really fallen of now that Jayme doesn't have much to analyze at the moment. II is always good but spend way to much time talking about Basketball.

I’m probably the minority, but I miss Pete Sampson pre-athletic. I don’t think Loy, Singer, etc come close to him when he was at his best.
