8. Notre Dame: The Irish's loss to Tennessee last Monday seemed to shout something that had been simmering under the surface for a while: Notre Dame isn't quite what we thought it was. Irish teams of recent years wouldn't blow a lead like that to what has been an inconsistent Lady Vols team. Is it chemistry? Is there a leadership void? Is the effort steady enough? The Irish remain elite. They just don't appear to be No. 1 seed material at this point -- and that is an uncharacteristic place for them to be.

ND had a one score win in the 1Q but blew out UNC in the 2Q, 23-6, for a 20 point halftime lead. ND won the the 2nd half 30-28 despite shooting only 35% from the floor.

BGIF you seem to follow this team more than anyone on this site. Are there some issues you see or were the expectations too high? I have not been able to catch many games, but the ones I have seen Turner seemed to disappear and be a nonfactor through long stretches and Ogunbowale seemed to force a lot of shots/drives that weren't there. Seems like the team isn't as cohesive as past teams. Maybe I just have caught some bad games. Would be interested in your thoughts. Hoping for a final four appearance again.
I know this was aimed at BGIF but I've followed the women's team for awhile and I truly felt, and still do, that this is the most talented team Muffet has had in a long time. If not possibly ever. The problem I noticed is, as you mentioned, no cohesiveness as a team. Rather than a team on the floor it seems there are 5 separate players on the floor, if that makes sense. They also have horrible FT shooting from the games I've been able to watch.
With that being said I think they will make it deep in the NCAA tournament. The less that is expected from them will be better. I mean they were preseason #1 for a reason.
