Was that the frigidly cold game, or was that 2013? I remember being the coldest I've ever been in my life. Something like 20 degrees and 30 MPH winds.I haven't been to a game since BYU '12.

That was 2013. I still didn't think it was colder than the Cuse game in 2008...man that one was brutal (though it probably had more to do with the play on the field)
Counterpoint: tactical considerations were at best secondary. They want to use the field for lots of other stuff during the year, and our grass was consistently garbage by the end of year given South Bend's climate; and that was mostly just with football use. Can't do all the other stuff they're currently doing in the stadium without turf.
