Maybe you guys can't read, so I'll post again:

Irish Illustrated ‏@NDatRivals
Notre Dame athletics director Jack Swarbrick: "Reports today that we will play Connecticut in Fenway Park in 2014 are inaccurate."

Or maybe we're on phones and didnt refresh the page?

Whats wrong with playing a team that's not real good once or twice a year? Jeez o' pete. Its not as if they are an FCS team. Playing UConn, five ACC teams, Navy, USC, two B1G teams, one of Stan/Cal/UCLA, and one MAC team. I don't see the problem with this. That will still be a tough schedule, more than likely a top 15/20 schedule. And if ND goes 11-1 with that type of schedule, they will be in the four team playoff.

Thank you!!!!

Guys, we can't schedule USC type teams every week. If these guys are terrible - GOOD! Our boys will need a 'break'. Alabama won the NC last year, and you can bet your arse not one person talked about their win over Northeast Dakota St. or whatever 3 pasties they played non-conference.

So yes, give me a few easier wins to mix in with USC, Michigan, ACC, and Texas. Hell yes.

And as has been mentioned, they did beat us a few years ago.

UCONN sucks but all of you guys that aren't on board are missing the point.....

Selling tickets and merch. Doesn't matter who we play there. Huge event and basically a guaranteed win.
Great idea. And recruits love this kinda stuff.

haha... memories....

Thanks for the stomach ache, wooly. That game was hard to watch, like many around that time period.

Brian Kelly's thoughts: "I think it'd be cool. I'd like to do it."

He is, after all, from Boston. He was even there for a game this summer.

That said, Fenway Park is the second smallest MLB stadium, fitting only ~37,000 fans. That compares poorly to the ~54,000 who went to the Notre Dame-Army game in Yankee Stadium.

The capacity of the stadium for one game is a non-issue. People (like me) will pay out the nose to be there, and the demand for the ticket and the novelty of the game will create more than enough buzz to make up for the seats that don't exist. As someone from the area, I can tell you for an absolute certainty that ND playing anyone at Fenway will generate weeks worth of talk in one of ND's best markets (and one of America's worst CFB markets). A game at Foxboro would only create attention in that Pats fans would complain that the Pats had to forfeit their facility to college football, "which nobody cares about anyway." That is the market. Not sure if that even does it justice. You'd have to be here to truly understand.

Love this idea. Playing in Boston's holiest landmark. Think it would be great fun to watch. I assume this would be a Shamrock Series game.
