Well you want to be respectful to the old farts and don’t want to mouth off to them and all, but come on you can't just sit there brace your arm on you knee plop your bald head in your hand like you are a pissed off 5 year old that has been told he can't watch TV and has to go play outside. I almost took a picture with the caption "Typical ND Stadium fan" and used it as my avatar. This is the crap that rowdy fans had to deal with, until that crowed stops going to games, I don’t care how load the student section cheers; we will still be a quiet stadium. I’m interested in seeing if the night game brings in a louder crowed, it should but I’m not holding my breath.
Ha, I was in the dining hall when he made this announcement. There weren't that many students, I'm guessing he just did it for the press release. To be fair, I don't think the student section is the problem. We're only about 10% of the capacity.

"[T]hat crowd" doesn't have to stop going to the games. The ushers have to stop enforcing on their behalf.
One would think that Savvy Jack can fix that problem immediately.
You're right, if JS made an announcement to that effect it would stop, but I wonder if he is worried about a financial back lash by making such a proclamation. Not sure why this has not been done yet but I wouldn’t be surprised that at the heart of the matter money is somehow involved.
You want good fun??? Go see a game at UTenn. Those people are off the hook. Extremely friendly and everyone is in the game for 60 minutes. By the way... UCLA and USuck play in friggin' cathedrals. Even during a sellout, USC is empty at one end in the Coliseum. Empty seats don't cheer....and neither do old people apparently.
2. lower ticket prices from the ridiculous levels they are at now. part of the reason there aren't enough young people at these games is because they can't afford it.
Where do you get the additional 10,000 students?
add dorms buildings and bring them in ND only has 9,000 a yr... most schools have 3x that...
i'm saying boost the student population...

I'm on board with jumbotrons and field turf and even joining a conference, but this just isn't going to freaking happen. Ever.
How about some press boxes for the older, richer alum?
i know... i was just saying it helps to have 20/30,000 students rather than 10,000...

Also, a jumbotron would help a lot for the older people who sit down. Instead of telling other people to sit down so they can see the field, they can just turn and look at the jumbotron.
