Walked, moving pick, and a foul when no contact was made. On top of the push on Vasturia. Wow
Refs really dropped the ball tonight. That "push" on Vasturia was one of the most atrocious calls I've seen in awhile... literally no contact and the ref couldn't see the play. I'm always very hard on basketball officials because I reffed basketball for about a decade. Cardinal rules of basketball officiating they teach every rookie official:
1) Do not anticipate or assume a violation.
2) Only call what you see.
3) Put yourself in the right position to make a call.
That ref failed all three of those. Put himself in a bad position, couldn't see the play, and then called something he didn't see because he assumed there was contact and not just momentum carrying him out of bounds.
Then the OBVIOUS travel coupled with an OBVIOUS moving screen was absurd on that Syracuse score.
And don't even get me started on Grant's travel in the first half (we got a makeup call immediately after though because the ref knew he missed it) or how Christmas committed about a dozen fouls to get his five.
Refs were inconsistent and missed a bunch of calls both ways... but wow, ND got burned in the last two minutes.
