The article doesn't have a clear leader. But states he is probably a 1 or 2 and done.

KU was involved w/ him for a while. The two I heard the most were Indiana and Arizona st. Have been hearing ND a lot lately w/ him. Freakish talent, look up his highlights, big guy that plays like a guard.

He is originally from Sudan and escaped with his brother to Australia. He then moved to Canada and then America and then back to Canada. A lot of schools are concerned with his eligibility as that's a lot of different school systems and thus a lot of different requirements he either did/did not meet. He's supposedly extremely intelligent, knows several languages and enjoys schooling. Due to his family situation, he will likely go pro asap in efforts to save the rest of his family. He's raw, but has a crazy skill set. ND got involved as I think Brey has a connection to Makers guardian Ed Smith or someone else in the Maker camp I read.

Not sure how serious ND is, I think ASU is the favorite here but if ND were going to take a chance, it would be on a kid like Thon I bet because he actually values academics, ND could help him and he would be a huge asset on the court.

That said I still think of this as a long shot

Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies anyone? Not just academics but an entire program that might be of tremendous personal importance to this kid. The potential to raise awareness and have a lasting impact goes well beyond cashing in at the NBA level. A couple years at ND and he would be legendary to our fan base while opening unimaginable doors to helping his homeland. Fr. Ted would be smiling!

Not sure how much of his low ranking is because he was committed to Florida for about 2 years and didn't do any camps... hopefully he's a good one. 1-2 spots left, depending on Demetrius. Would love to get Delaurier, maybe Huerter as well.

Mooney looks like a stretch 4 with a mid range and 3 point game. Wish he was a little quicker but we know Brey loves those type of bigs that can step out and knock down a 3. Does so much for spacing.

Honestly would rather have Javin DeLaurier then him if we had the choice. He probably stays atleast 2-3 years.

Thanks for the update. I was actually wondering about this today. Hadn't heard any updates in awhile.

IMO, him being a one and done isn't a big deal. Honestly it would help in recruiting showing elite players can come to ND. We haven't had a ton of elite talent come from HS to ND. Plus just having him in the NBA would help a ton with the label he would carry with him.

That's actually a good point. We've never had a one and done. Would probably help future recruiting a lot.

Right. We need to take advantage of our successful season now otherwise it COULD be back to mediocrity in a few years.
