He's been a dc and he's a great safeties coach and teacher of tackling. Allows mickens then more time to work cb and be more of a game planner and have a guy who has done it before to help out. I guarantee ash is going to be up in the booth and mickens on the sidelines. I think it's a good thing having him here

From what I’ve gathered, Ash is a good position coach + is advanced schematically, which has likely only increased in the NFL.

The downside, not known well personality wise. Unknown if really a plus value play caller.

I would say Golden had the same play calling concern, but was the opposite reputation personality wise

I’m not going to blindly praise Coach Free, but he dropped the ball big time here. If I’m Denbrock, I’m also pissed. Denbrock personally dealt with a piss poor coordinator when he was with LSU…they field just an average defense and they win the NC. This guy can’t recruit, apparently is hard to deal with it, bounces from job to job, and has yet to produce noteworthy results. A bad coordinator can ruin a team and coach. I hope I’m wrong and I’d love to run back, own it, and eat my crow, but right now, this flat out sucks.

Imma tell you this, as good as the DBs were last year, they'll be better this year. He's a good safeties coach. He has a ton of experience doing that.

Gray and moore were true freshman and true sophomores last year and made it to the natty.....and yes watts is great but shuler was a true sophomore starter and we have stroman coming in and our best pass rushers back.....what are you getting at
