At this point, you play who you play and chances are they're going to be good if they're still around. To your point, watching ECU was a blast. They had a crazy run that started at the end of April.

I have tremendous disdain for Texas so I don't know what I'll have in the tank emotionally after dispensing that team of douchebags from Knoxville.
No doubt about who you play at this point. Just like Randy Marsh, you clean up and go again my friend. lol

anyone know if they are going to open the football stadium and let people bring blankets to sit on the field or sit in the stands to watch the game on the big screen

Why do you say that? Wasnt Texas ranked #1 at one point as well? Obv we can beat anyone at this point , just curious why youd prefer texas of ECU?
Texas was pre-season #1 but the other UT soon took over that spot

He is a FSU alum and their program is good to elite a lot of the time. Our facilities are not up to par and need to be upgraded to compete in the world of baseball. Recruiting is easier in the south also.
That’s the key. Paul Manieri turned down numerous offers until LSU…which was his dream job. He was quoted in an article by Eric Hansen as urging ND to invest in the facilities ASAP or they would lose Jarrett just like they lost him. Now it’s playing out that way barring a major announcement or behind the scenes work we aren’t privy to.

I think the blue one looks clean, not a fan of the grey one. The green is nice too

I look forward to Baseball America's College Preview issue every year. They had ND fourth in the preseason. They were not chopped liver by any stretch, and getting hosed with seeding in the regional only to win it and go on to face Tennessee shouldn't have made people overlook them.

I'm glad Stanford advanced. If it isn't ND, I hope it's them. The rest is an SEC and SEC in waiting flavor I can really do without. Was really hoping for ECU to pull it off.

I was hoping the Beavers would finish off Auburn to avoid yet another SEC team being in the CWS and having to hear them crow even more.

Historically, the west coast has some baseball powerhouses that need to get back in the mix:

Cal State Fullerton
Fresno State
Long Beach State
Pepperdine
SCum
Arizona
Arizona State

Yeah they were top 10 in just about every preseason poll and almost all season; they had one rough patch this season but that's about it.

I think the national narrative, coupled with the NCAA ripping them off with seeding, gave them the chip on their shoulder they needed to take down Tennessee.

If I'm not mistaken, they only lost THREE games at home all year, let alone a series. It was quite the feat, but let's not act like ND came out of nowhere. They gave the eventual national champions all they could handle last year in Starkville in the Super Regional and should have been seeded in this tournament.

It just depends what kind of vibe you want. I’d avoid all the bars close to the stadium unless you’re pregaming, the prices are just stupid. Barrett’s Barleycorn is a ND bar, it’s only about three miles from the stadium and has good food too. I’m not sure they’ll have any sort of watch party or anything but they’ll definitely have the game on. Any of the fine old-school dive bars in town will cater to you as well. Emmet’s on Leavenworth is a good one, plenty of tvs and cheap drinks

Also, if you’re patient enough, wait until close to game time, tickets drop like a rock from desperate locals just trying to get some money back. Try posting on craigslist to see if anyone would be willing to switch games. Omaha people are cool, lot of local ticket holders just want to see them get used and won’t dick you around, ya know?

EDIT: Just saw get in price on stubhub is $120 LOL. Sat club level for the National Championship a couple years back for $50. Omaha is gonna love the money this field brings this year

This is the kind of in-depth knowledge we need on this board. What a guy

College Baseball is awesome. I wish more people knew that.

So to have ND going to Omaha is an absolute blast as far as I'm concerned. The tournament has been fun overall, but to have ND progressing this far is the absolute gravy.
