They are a lock for a #1 seed along with Kansas. I would guess that the other two are N.C. and either Oregon or Virginia.

They haven't been in the discussion for a #1 at any point that I've heard. That's where I was confused.

So you're saying that regardless of the outcome today, MSU should be the #2 overall seed?

OR 3 or 4
I'm shocked MSU didn't get a 1. They are my final 4 team thiugj

I don't get how the seeding works. How can you be the #2 team, with some 1st place votes, and not get 1 of the 4 #1s

19-12 TTU in. Hurl. At least the Big12 was strong.

Looking forward to the UVa Purdue game at the Sweet 16 and MSU losing to the Flyers in round 2.

Isaiah Whitehead gave a silent to IU but backed out to go to Seton Hall. Damn, IU could use his game right now.

Really tough draw for us in the first round. I especially do not want to play Tulsa (and I think Tulsa beats Michigan). However, if we get by the first game I think we have a very good shot against West Virginia.

Anyone here now how we would hypothetically match up against WVU? Somehow haven't watched them too much this year compared to the other Big 12 teams...

Final Four = UNC, UVa, A&M, Nova

UNC beats Nova for the title.

Wow, listening to Calipari made me want to vomit. That guy is such a douche. He has excuses when he wins and even more excuses excuses when he loses. Can't wait for the day he gets sanctioned at UK and is forced out like at his previous stops.

This will NEVER happen. He'll be in the NBA before they catch up with him. I actually don't mind what he's doing at UK. I mean, i hate UK like I hate few sports teams but he is just using the NCAA/NBA's STUPID rules as written and he's putting guys in the league and changing their lives just as he promises.

But staying clean at UK is impossible. It's the Commonwealth of Bagmen. Been that way since I started going down there when Joe B Hall was running the show.

It's a winnable game but they play a full court 1-3-1 press and they are gonna trap you hard. They are a very good team. They play very tough defense and they can score but they really only have one big guy just like auguste so they don't have size. Basically if we can control our turnovers then we have a very good chance. Breaking the press is extremely important to scoring on their D.

I've watched them quite a few times, due to my boss being a WVU fan, and I agree with your final assessment, but a few changes.

They don't really play a zone press. They have one of their bigs guarding the ball out of bounds (to start, the Adrien kid). They man press, but they jump at EVERY opportunity, whether it is in the half-court or full.

They have a good amount of size, just not one overwhelming kid that going to get 20 and 10 (although, Williams has the potential). Williams is a load. He's very Tyler Hansborough esque. Plays hard, pounds you down low. And has some touch.

Adrien and the other starter (kid from Ohio, can't remember his name), are both probably around 6'9. Decent players, but the hit the glass hard.

They're bigs FLOP all the time, and then look completely shocked when called for a foul.

They are literally 10 deep.

When I watched them early in the year, their guards couldn't throw the ball in the ocean. Lately, they've been hitting some outside shots. But, the majority of their offense still comes off of turnovers and offensive boards (they may lead the country in both categories).

I actually, out of all the potential 3's, would want to play them or Utah for us (although, I can see Auguste fouling out in 10 minutes against Utah's big, not going to try to spell his name).

I don't think they rebound as well as UNC (they just play in a conference where boxing out is optional), and they are a below average shooting team. They rely on turnovers, which is something we don't do very often. They'll speed us up at times, we just have to be better.

They are really a poor man's UNC rebounding combined with a better Louisville pressure, with really poor shooting rolled in.

This could actually come down to how the game is officiated. If they actually call it close, we're going to be fine. In the game at least. If they get away with some of the stuff I've seen previously (Louisville type stuff), then we're going to be in trouble.

I think they end up wearing us down in the end, WVU by 8'ish. But I'd love to be wrong.

Their press is nasty. They get you sped up and making really dumb plays. And Devin Williams has really come into his own in the last 10 games or so.

If you can break their press, they're very ordinary.

Exactly and we have a great guard in DJ that can handle that press. If we get to that game it is going to be all on Jackson to not turn it over and break that press. Jackson is extremely quick and can definitely break that press.

Why? They're probably around the 25th best team in the country. 5 seed is being generous.

Come on really? I know they are hit or miss on the road but they were undefeated at home on the season. 5 seed is not being generous when they give a 3 seed to Texas A&M and a 4 seed to Kentucky. They play in the worst power 5 conference in the country.

Tipoff is at (roughly) 9:40 on Friday night. 30 minutes after the WVU/SFA game ends.

Stephen F. Austin is always dangerous. They won a game 2 years ago and came close last year as well. They went undefeated in conference play...competition is very weak but they shouldn't be starstruck.

Not sure how I feel about having to deal with playing the play-in winner. Seems to have it's advantages and disadvantages.

Joe B just kept going what Rupp started.

Kansas has very athletic guard play. In the first game at WVU, they absolutely dismantled that guard play. I've never seen a Kansas team so out of sorts. Turned the ball over more than 20 times.

But that was also shortly after KU had played Oklahoma in the triple OT game. It looked to me like a very tired Kansas team.
