Would it be better for Lebron's legacy if he just lost and didn't drag this trash team to the Finals to lose 4-1? Lebron could bring his best game and he's still gonna get gentlemen swept bt the Warriors or Rockets. He's mortal and they have 4x the team.

I wouldnt go that far. If the Rockets make it, season series be dammed, the Cavs would have a shot, with or without Paul.

Lol this Cavs team isn't trash. LeBron is arguably the best player in the league. Kevin Love is an all star (even if LeBron makes him worse), TT is as good at rebounding and defending in the post as anyone in the series. Georgia Hill is a 17 ppg guy and great defender. Kyle Korver is an all time great 3 pt shooter. Larry Nance is a solid player than can compete. Jeff Green same thing.

This Cavs team isn't trash at all. They'd absolutely be able to compete with the Rockets without Paul. Will they? Who knows. LeBron struggles to work well every game with these players. But they absolutely have the talent to beat the Rockets.

It's a joke that ppl think the Cavs roster is trash. Listening to too many hot takes from the analysts I guess. Do they have the greatest chemistry? Not all the time. But they absolutely have the talent, and if LeBron is so great at making those around him better, no reason at all they can't beat the rockets.

LeBron James
James Harden
Eric Gordon
Kevin Love
Clint Capella
George Hill
Kyle Korver
Trevor Ariza
Tristan Thompson
#4 tough guy for rockets (forget his name)

Those are the 10 best players if these 2 to head to head
Anyone excusing LeBron from competing with this "trash roster" doesn't know basketball and has bought into the hot take excuses for this roster.

Cavs payroll is $20 million more than the Rockets, and higher than GS too.

Only the Cavs and Clippers are currently labeled repeat offenders of the luxury tax.

The only help Lebron needs is someone he can trust in charge that builds a roster that complements his skill set.

He clearly dictates every FA/trade situation, and isnt good at it.

Lebron is the beginning, middle, and end of why the roster is trash.

Speaking of hot takes...

The guy who you list as the 3rd best player on the Cavs averages 10 points per game this season and 11 points per game on his career and isn't remarkable in any other area at all. Kyle Korver can certainly go off in certain games but he averages around 9 points a game and is a defensive liability. He's not a young Ray Allen. Tristan Thompson shows up in certain series (raptors) and straight up disappears in others (Pacers).

If you honestly think that the Cavs minus Lebron and the Rockets minus Paul AND Harden are even comparable then I don't need to explain myself to you. No one on the Cavs roster has any ability to create their own shot and they are almost all terrible in one on one defense. James Harden couldn't hit a bucket to save his life on Thursday (24% FG percentage!) and his team beat the Warriors. Lebron was one assist away from a 46 point triple double (on 51% shooting) and an injured Boston team was still with seven points with 4 minutes left in the game. I don't need hot takes, I have eyes.

No argument from me there, if he's as responsible for the roster as it appears then he might be the worst GM ever. But the original point remains: It IS trash.

If you get LeBron and Harden off those teams, I'll take the Cavs. Kevin Love will get 22 and 12, Thompson will take care of the rest of the paint, and Cavs dominate the paint, there's no debate about that. Look at Bosh before and after LeBron. LeBron kills the post game.

George Hill, Korver, and Jeff Green can keep up with Gerald Green and Eric Gordon.

Every contender except GS has a pretty sharp drop off in talent after their Alpha and Beta. Look at the playoff teams next two men in (guys in parentheses didnt compete in playoffs, but are part of top 2):

Hou- Eric Gordon, Clint Capela
Cle- George Hill, Jeff Green
Bos- Brown, Tatum (Kyrie, Hayward)
Phi- Saric, Covington
Ind- Bojan, Sabonis
NO- Jrue, Mirotic (Boogie)
Por- nurkic, Aminu
OKC- Melo, Adams
SA- Murray, Anderson (Kawhi)
WAS- Morris, Porter
TOR- Val, Ibaka
MIL- Bledsoe, Henson
Min- Wiggins, Teague
UTAH- Rubio, Favors
MIA- Richardson, Wade

Not exactly a murders row of superstars. The top two make a team, not a team making the top two.

Good to know that if the Cavs are able to get by the Celtics they are almost certainly shoo-ins to win the Finals. After all, Lebron is certainly better than Harden thus far in the playoffs and Hill/Korver/Green can just handle the rest of the Rockets.

Was thinking the same. With the Best Player in the Universe and such stacks of quality depth, it’s amazing they’re being taken to seven games by a team of Al Horford, two swingmen who should still be in college and a bunch of scrappy role players. Figure they’ve got Sunday night in the bag.
