Ha, I’m from South Dakota so I know it won’t be tropical weather.

I appreciate the advice.

What area would you recommend staying in? It will be my wife and I and my 15 year old son and 10 year old daughter.
lol, I was thinking San Diego. WTF?
I’ll send you a DM over the next few days with some ideas.
Happy New Year!!

Is this collusion of some sort?
Doubt it. LeBron didn’t know. I assume the Lakers either know or feel LeBron is gonna bounce after this season. But their best big now is… LeBron. Lakers thinking more about the future than the present. Dallas… not sure why they trade a 25 year old stud for a 31 year old piece of glass.

Did Luca have a NTC? Only thing that would make sense is that he told them trade me to the Lakers or I'm walking.

Reports are saying LeBron, Luka and Davis didn’t know until it happened.

My ass Lebron didn’t know. Maybe he didn’t know every detail, but there’s no way he didn’t agree to it in principle.

Did Cuban sell the team to idiots? Why would you ever trade Luka? I don't watch a lot of regular season basketball but unless he's extremely unhappy, this is nuts.

On the plus side, as a Celts fan and Lakers hater, this combines my 2 least liked players together on my least liked team. The amount of flops and complaints to the refs could be off the charts.

More shocked Cuban would trade Luka to a team in the same conference and a rival. Luka’s medical file must be a huge red flag.

The strange part is if you’re worried about health, why trade for AD? Guy is always hurt. Crazy. I think it’s fairly well known that Luka doesn’t take great care of himself but he’s now going to be teamed up with LeBron. If he’s smart, he’ll learn from him regarding the need to stay in great shape. Just an absolute coup for the Lakers. Makes me sick.

This will be by far the worst defensive Big 2 in the history of the league.

Absolutely WILD trade.

That being said…I don’t get it for either team. Sure, the Lakers have their “next” superstar; but the fit with LeBron until he retires is really, really bad. And until Luca decides he wants to work on his conditioning, I’d worry about giving him a gigantic extension.

For Dallas? Woof. Disaster.

My thoughts as well…
I just think it’s a horrible trade to make as the Mavs. They trade their 25 year old mvp candidate for an aging big man with injury history and 1 first round pick. If they really wanted Luka gone I bet 15 other teams would give them a better package!

What they got back was shockingly bad.

Between this and the Wolves losing to Washington, I’m gonna chill on following the NBA for a bit

A lot of speculation on it having to do with Luka not wanting to sign his extension.

Putting some thought to this for the Mavs… If they both stay healthy the Kyrie-AD pick and roll will be unstoppable! Plus AD’s D will help the Mavs. In the short term does this actually help the Mavs?

15? There's probably only 2-3 teams in the NBA that wouldn't have made an offer if Luca's on the table.

Just a complete bungling by Dallas.

Yeah, I was being a bit conservative 😉

No problem.

Off the top of my head, though, who says "no thanks" to a possible Luca trade? Probably Boston. Maybe Houston? Other than that, I just can't imagine why Dallas didn't open things up for bidding.

I don't watch the NBA and don't know anyone who really does, but stuff like this is not good for casual fans. Unless it leaks that Luka has the knees of a 50 year old man and will only play 20-25 games a year or something.

Yep, the only thing I can think of is that Mavs owners want to win now and felt AD with Kyrie would be the best deal they could get to make this happen. Especially with Luka hurt.?.? Pure reckless speculation but yes still surprised about the deal. Also, forgot Cuban is only a minority owner now. 27%
