People can correct me or add to it, but believe coaches and school officials can join players discussing NIL deals. Also, HS seniors who sign with in state school can start earning NIL money from moment they sign versus enroll.

What Ndaccountant said. The combo of coaches/school officials able to join the talks while enabling them to get paid right away if they sign in-state seems to be doing the trick for them.

Was that law written by Mizzou’s director of recruiting?

Not quite but it’s literally designed to purposely help Mizzou football

“The new rule could incentivize some of Missouri’s top talent to remain in their home state, helping to “close down the borders and keep Missouri’s best athletes in the state of Missouri,” as state representative Kurtis Gregory put it”

Seems like every state but Indiana has some type of favorable NIL legislation. Pretty surprising considering IU basketball has been down and that would be an easy way to bring it back.

they are paying their bball players plenty but a law about immediately eligibility would go a long way.

I went to the Mater Dei/J Serra game tonight. MD blowout win. The talent on the field was sick. Nate Frazier rivals #1 APB (just ahead of Aneyas Williams) who is committed to Georgia took one to the house from 60 yards out and I do not believe I have ever seen a HS kid that fast in person. I saw Jayden Daniels play in HS and thought he was quick, but Frazier was next level fast. We all looked at each other with our mouths open after that TD.

I would not be surprised if the wheels are already in motion with Napier's dismissal. This was really the only consolation they had with the results they've been getting.

They'd better have someone getting lined up through back channels, though. Keep him employed privately and publicly until you know you have someone locked in.

East will still be an easier division in the SEC despite Georgia's dominance. I'd rather take Florida I think. A&M has that fuck you money though...easier recruiting. Either job could be good for Elko.

A&M has proof of concept that you can underachieve, run a dysfunctional program, and still have a 5 year tenure. UF is pissed at the world and has fired 6 coaches in the time A&M has had 2. Mr. Elko, it’s all about job security my friend

It's about financial security. You go to the highest guaranteed contract. A&M demonstrated they go big, but that may hinder them this time. IIRC, the current contract for Napier is underwhelming and UF may have more flexibility.

I'd leverage Duke for more money. Or knowing what Michigan State was paying Mel Tucker, have a few conversations with them.

If Elko is chasing a championship, it's Gainesville. If he's chasing money, it's College Station. Career preservation it's Duke or Michigan State. Less pressure, plenty of good money and more appreciation is my guess.

I know in the end winning is all that really matters to these people, but Elko is a Jersey guy with an Ivy League degree with a rather unique resume that doesn't scream fit at Florida or even TAMU for that matter. DC at TAMU is one thing, but now he's going to be "the guy" replacing the guy who once employed him there.

I don't know, my mind looks at this as someone outside of the industry. At the end of the day these are all just jobs to these guys.

Their class will collapse completely. LJ McCray, their highest rated commit, is probably flipping to. FSU. I also expect them to lose DJ Lagway and Adarius Hayes, at minimum.
