This movie will fit into this thread the weekend it comes out. Might even go the IMAX route.

Looks like it shoulda been called Moneyrace

Kerry Condon going from Banshees.. to this is certainly a choice lol

Just watched the movie Heretic starring Hugh Grant, thought it was good. I’m a huge horror movie fan and I wouldn’t say this was scary but I really enjoyed the religious angle the film had. Hugh played his role to perfection IMO.

Watched G20 on Prime this weekend. Stars Viola Davis as the POTUS. Terrorists capture world leaders at the G20 summit. This is basically a rehash of a plot that has been done over and over. Pretty big stretch to think Davis can kick the crap out of dudes twice her size. It's one to watch when there isn't anything else on TV.

Took my youngest on a daddy daughter date to see Minecraft,… she loved it. I thought it was another flimsy cash in movie but at least Momoa’s character had a few actual lol scenes. Loved his gamer of the year intro with the old NES swag

I digress. Absolutly garbage. Why are these DEI people in Hollywood acting like women are stronger, more expericed then men. Especially In anything other than the norm? Men don't normally care one way or another. We just want to be entertained.

I watched "The Place beyond the Pines"(Tubi) recently. It's the movie that has all the right type of notes, and will make you have emotions on both sides of the isle. It's not that old either.
Bradly Cooper before he hit the big time. Many other great actresses, and actors as well.
Since covid hit, it's been a puzzle to find good movie night material, imho.

It certainly seems to me that movies, in general, have gotten a lot less interesting since COVID. Definitely more difficult to find good ones (especially comedies).

The Gorge was a surprisingly good movie. Would recommend, original concept.
Wife and I watched it recently, it had some plot holes IMO but definitely entertaining. We enjoyed it. Put Miles Teller and Anya Taylor Joy together and let them cook. They're both phenomenal actors.

What parts had plot holes? I thought the gorge itself was a bit over and under produced.

Thunderbolts is the best Marvel movie since at least Endgame. It actually has a message that hit me really close to home.

The message was pretty profound, especially for a Marvel movie. I didn’t hate or enjoy it which is a big step up from every movie since Endgame outside of the Spiderman films.
Unfortunately, I found myself not caring about most of the characters. Not a single laugh either although they tried.

Fantastic Four looks very promising with the 60’s setting.

**Spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen the Gorge and wants to**

The whole movie felt like it was pieced together by other movies or prequels with little or no explanation. It was good, but the ending in particular felt rushed.

Why were people who were exposed for 1/2 a day as opposed to a full day or days not affected? The whole thing was some mysterious build up and then it was just some bad government job with hardly any context as to why or who these bad people were pulling the strings, and they all got blown up in 10 minutes.

It was a very enjoyable film, just felt like it was missing some things that could've made it great.

Did you enjoy the Deadpool movies? I haven’t seen the newest one yet but plan on watching it.

Deadpool and Wolverine? No.
2.5 hours of dick, gay, and Jesus jokes was too much for me.
Sometimes less is more, but Ryan Reynolds wouldn't know about that.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, but King of Kings was incredible. But don't take my word for it.

My brother in Christ, you tell that to a 12-year-old who wants to see Minecraft instead.

I feel like the audience who went to watch KoK isn't going to give it a bad score.
