There’s a politics section of the page to complain and unpack your agenda.
Maybe take your own advice.
Wow. Lol… No conspiracy theories or QAnon agenda. Lol. Amazing this is the knock on a movie when most movies are littered with Hollywood trash with their own set of issues and actual agendas.

Probably little to no backlash if they hadn't used the word "God" to promote a film.

Gee I wonder why they need to clarify that? Lol
I mean, NYT, RS, WaPo, and the Guardian are all fairly left leaning publications. The movie is generally getting praised from what I've seen, the push back seems to be mostly coming from these sites and similar media. Right or wrong, it explains a bit why the "groomer" trend started getting assigned to liberals. Progressive California also recently reduced penalties on sex crimes with minors. I'd go with the woodchipper treatment personally.

I was just responding to those that want to make this movie seem like it’s a QAnon and far right conspiracy movie like yourself and others that haven’t even watched the movie but are trumpeting what they heard from their media. 🐑
Some really weird dynamics going on with this movie.

On the one hand you appear to have some really weird responses coming from some media organizations referencing QAnon concerning a movie subject and themes that you would think have universal support. Just really odd to me.

On the other hand you have a segment on the right/Christians who I do believe have sincere concern about child trafficking but would likely not pay to go watch this movie in the theatre. But because it's in essence being crowd funded by a Christian organization and there is a storyline of how other ("evil") media companies rejected the movie, there is suddenly a compelling motivation to support this movie by going and watching it in the theatre.

It does sound like this movie is well done and tells a story that needs to be told. It's mystifying that the QAnon stuff is being tossed into the fray. I haven't seen it yet. I will probably wait to watch it when it's streamed months down the road.

Christianity is synonymous with the right. They have an ax to grind. So they grind, no matter the message.

I never said anything about QAnon and didn't site anything from the media until you brought up the weird reviews.

What I said was the the trailer didn't look very good, certainly not what I would expect a movie that was actually worthy of a 99% score to look like. And that my assumption was that it meant there was some other agenda at play causing the positive review bombing. Similar to when a bad MCU movie comes out and has a 99% audience score because people want the movie to good regardless of its quality because they want the brand to do well.

Seems like my intuition was correct because there are churches buying out full screenings for this film.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Or that it makes the message of the movie bad. Just that it explains the reviews.

I brought up the weird reviews from this forum of people who have never watched it. It just seems like clockwork when one of your political forum buddies post that it’s QAnon you were right there telling us all about how bad the review is.

How bad what review is? I think you must have me confused with someone else.

All I said was that a movie getting negative reviews for politicized reasons isn't unique to this movie. How many articles have there been about Hollywood being woke where the critiques have little to nothing to do with the movies? Shoe's on the other foot in this case.

People just brought up the ties that an actor and the person it's based on have been parroting some of the same messages that QAnon have. A bunch of the articles too are making mention of child tracking and spreading awareness of it, which isn't that the message of the movie?

Again, being critical of the individuals involved with it doesn't make someone "anti-Christianity" or "pro-sex trafficking". No reason for some to take this is as some personal affront.

Some QAnon ties, but like no one is going to be "pro-human trafficking". If it's a rounabout way to make people more aware of human tracking then so be it. Probably missing the bigger issue but it's a tough message to be against lol.

Yeah or more likely is that the only people who have ever heard about whatever that movie is are people that are already going to give it high scores because of it's message.

I had no idea what Sound of Freedom was, but watching the trailer it's obviously not a "great" movie, so seeing a 99% audience score is a dead giveaway that it's agenda driven in some fashion.
for two people who have apparently never heard much or anything at all about the movie, much less seen it, I would question why you felt the need to comment in the first place. But judging from posts on other forums on this website, and I think I know enough to answer that question. Those with an ax tend to grind it.

I was responding to greyhammer who posed the question….
Is this something with a poltical/religious bent? It's very weird to have never heard of a movie, it have an audience score that high, and the filmmakers are all people who have nothing to their name except some straight to vod duds.
So out of curiosity I watched the trailer, which IMO looked like shit. If the movie is bad there must be another reason people are giving it 5*s. Seems pretty logical.

I responded to Greyhammer with an article talking about the lead actors ties to QAnon beliefs since he had asked about background on the movie. Has anyone said don't go see it? I will likely watch it when I can stream it.

What ax are we grinding? lol the anti-christian ax while we post on a catholic private university's football team? Or are we against child trafficking prevention?

Here's a list of 100% scored movies on rotten tomatoes, a lot of them have a "larger point" behind them that likely contributes to the score. https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/guide/movies-100-percent-score-rotten-tomatoes/

Sound of Freedom is an 8.6 on IMDB, which would come in at a top 30 movie of all time. Aside from Schindler's List there isn't another movie in there with a broader point.

I’ve not seen the movie yet but in the meantime (with all this talk) I have listened to a few Tim Ballard interviews. I encourage you all to do the same.

His purpose is nothing more or less than saving children. The Aquan talk (what ever that is) is non-existent…he too doesn’t know what this is.

Movie was done 5 years ago, Disney then got the rights, and squashed it.

Anyone questioning a guy for saving children from misery should be stripped of their credentials. Politics or children???…those spewing venom, need to take a step back.

Up to 100% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. My cousin went and said the theatre was packed and at one point over half the theatre gave a standing ovation.

Rumors of bad trailer tho.

Lol, you mock people for worshiping their “sky god” on one thread, then pretty quick to reference QAnon articles as it relates to this movie. It’s fairly obvious.

like the movie says, the United States is the number one customer for trafficking. It should not be a surprise that there are articles and people poo pooing this movie.

The left undermines families, children, and God all of the time. Those surprised by the backlash to this movie are living under a rock.

Look at state laws fighting against parental consent to puberty blockers and gender surgeries. They're becoming more common and the bluer your state, the more extreme they are. And it's going to get worse. Hundreds of thousands of kids go missing each year due to sex trafficing. Biden's DOJ just removed "sex trafficking" from their list of "items of concern" (I can link article). UN just said children can give consent. Why they're even talking about that, I don't know. But this runs deep and I'm afraid its much worse than the average person realizes.

Why that bothers all left MSMs, draw your own conclusion.

That’s kind of a bold statement to say the trailer sucked. Tackling pedophiles to the ground, and saving children out of sex trafficking. Based on a true story. Sucks!!

For those that have not seen the trailer, I thought it was pretty good. I guess there could have been more violence and cooler cars. And he said god that one time…

To your point, maybe it's hard to make an overly compelling trailer. It's probably not fair to say that it sucked. But it's also fair to say that the trailer wasn't overly compelling. Most people after watching that trailer aren't telling themselves, I got to see that movie.

In regards to all of the rating stuff. It's possible for this movie to be both a very good movie AND still be overrated on Rotten Tomatoes because people (consciously or unconsciously) inflate their ratings because they want to help this movie succeed.

Yeah, I see your points. I know a lot of people that have went to see it that would rarely never go to a movie theater so it definitely draws a different crowd. It is very much pushed and advertised to the churchgoing crowd.

I also think there is a large contingent of people that support the cause. That might have a large effect on the rating as well. Even at the end of the movie they give you a QR code to donate money so people can watch the movie for free end it encourages people to share and promote the movie.
