Twins pitching has been awful since OG Santana(Johan) and young Francisco Liriano.

I liked Ervin with the Halos but geez, that was so long ago... I do remember him beating the Yanks in game five tho.

Don't know if I'd rather have another dude up for the Twins with the bases loaded. Buxton isn't a good hitter but good luck throwing that dude out lmao

Trend Continues

Trend Continues

Berrios took 27 pitches to get out of the inning, down only a run.

91 pitches by the Twins. 78 by NY ... but as announcer noted NY using a set up man reliever while Twins have a starter in relief.

9 runs, 11 hits by both teams. Fans are getting their money's worth.

Great replay of the DP with the ball making a bulge in Bird's glove while Mauer was stretching to get his foot down on the bag. Close but out.

One of the quickest innings of the night.

Now we are in trouble.

11 consecutive L's to anyone in the playoffs is not a good look.

Judge swung the gavel, 7-4. I think they're going to need more. Hitter's night.

The error allowing 2nd and 3rd forced the walk to Didi. Bags juiced, no out, 1 hit. Twins did well to get out of the inning allowing only a run.

8-4 end of 7.

Well y'all are playing chess and I was playing checkers... (why do we need forty different baseball threads??? Lol)

I posted in the other thread:

Forty threads of Pinstripes in your head?

Yankee there is obvious. THE PROGRAM.

The Cubs. Midwest angst.

The other 38? Provincialism.

I'd rather see Kahnle pitch the 9th then Chapman. Chapman and Betances in the 2nd half of the season seemed to walk somebody, give up an infield hit, and then hit a batter to load the bases ... then start to pitch like a closer and mow down 3 in a row ... sometimes give up the tying or winning run. Hot or cold.

New Era.

First time since 2012 I believe.

Interesting team. Gregorius was supposed to be a place holder until the next Jeter arrived. Gleyber Torres may not arrive. Tommy John surgery then he has to beat out Gregorius at short or Castro at 2nd, the Yankees only .300 hitter.

Third and First are still question marks despite a bunch of players.

Sanchez has power but cost the team a number of games behind the plate. Serious problem with passed balls.

Still no Pettite, Ford, Guidry, et al. The Ace, The Stopper. Severino has the making but too young for the role now. CC considering his health gave them more wins than expected but the years are dwindling. Tanaka seems done and then goes out and throws a gem. Montgomery had a good rookie year. After them ... I saw no improvement with Gary and Garcia. NY needs one probably two pitchers

Judge is a wonder. Whether the post All-star game was a shoulder or just a plain old slump he battled back. Nice to see the exuberance on his face rounding first base on his HR. If they could flatten his swing just a tad those 400 foot flyouts will be going over the wall like his HR tonight did.

I thought Gardner was done early in the season. Nice finish.
