Wait a minute! USC gets strict sanctions and Res Life goes easy on someone? Did I just slip in to some strange Bizarro World or parallel universe? Am I going to go home to a huge mansion and a pool full of supermodel nymphomaniacs?

First sign that Kelly will "have his way" with borderline issues?

First sign that the Admin is loosening up a la 1987?

There's always the possibility that ResLife had no say in this matter. What I mean by that is Ragone pleaded not-guilty and if found to be be so by the local authorities, ResLife may not have had the chance to act. Now I'd assume that they would make some recommendations to Ragone and note his involvement but it very well could be that they had no hand in the matter and it wasn't a trump card held by coach Kelly.

**but this is all speculation since none of this has been confirmed

If this is true, then that is excellent news! Ragone looked really good in spring ball. It would be a terrible setback if he was suspended

Guilt or innocence in a civil or criminal matter is not necessarily relevant to a ResLife Hearing. ResLife deals with alledged violations of du Lac, the ND Student Handbook, in essence the ND Code of Conduct. A student doesn't have to found guilty, be prosecuted, nor even arrested to be called before ResLife. Likewise an acquittal or lack of prosectuion doesn't mean ResLife doesn't have jurisdicition.

This is an administrative hearing not a criminal trial. No comparision concerning due process, rules of evidence, right to counsel and so forth.

In a criminal matter the DA could have chosen not to pursue a trial for a variety of reasons. ResLIfe would still have a say IF the conduct was a du Lac violation.

On another item concerning ResLife, I read that Bill Kirk, ND Associate VP of Student Affairs (ResLIfe) recently retired. He was considered by many alumni to be too Draconian. The Darth Vader of ResLife.
It may have simply been Kirk's time to retire. On the other hand, President Jenkins over the past year may have sent ResLife a message that he was looking for more compassion and character building from ResLife and less Dark Side punishment. I seriously doubt this case nor any other one case would have caused that to happen but it may have reflected a change from the direction ResLife took under the Malloy administration and the timing may be purely coincidental. All supposition on my part.

I just got one question... How do you(BGIF) know so much about ND and everything that goes on there?

I mean, I know a lot about the football team, but it seems like you know a lot about everything ND!!!!

Because the Big IF is the hero ND I.E. deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not the hero. He's a silent guardian, watchful protector. The Dark Knight.

Ahem they weren't just cheeseburgers, those were In and Outs!

Joey was winning a bet with Tony Driver, David Givens, and I think Darcey Levy that In and Outs were the best burgers in the country. I didn't buy them either. Joey's dad Joe made it happen. I was a house guest of the Getherall family the weekend of the '98 Southern Cal game and merely rode shot gun on the burger run.

BTW, at that game, Raki Nelson's girl friend, a stunning young lady, was sitting next to me. She kept asking when Raki was going to play. Play after play, after play. At one point I said, he's going in now. They're going to throw to him on a down and out on the left side right in front of us. It happened and she just looked at me in wonderment and asked, "How did you know?" I just smiled and said, "Part of the game plan." She bought it.

Then the guy sitting in front of me, Jason Ching's dad, turned around and whispered, "How did you REALLY know?" I whispered back theat the corner had been playing deep for some time. The ND QBs Cappell and Battle (Jarious was injured) didn't see it. Joey Getherall had come off the field obviously frustrated and was gesturing empathically to the WR coach, one Urban Meyer that the area was wide open. Urban immediately started talking on the headset, grabbed Raki, spoke in his ear and then shoved him on the field. I was keying on Joey as I knew him and just happened to catch the exchange. I figured even Colletto couldn't miss that one after Urban called it in.

Confirmed on Rivals - Ragone will be on the 2010 football team. That's some needed talent and experience behind Rudolph.

Thanks for the update, Terry.

Rudolph and Ragone are probably as good as most of the wideouts Kelly has had at UC.

Ragone also provides a veteran blocker for a still evolving OLine.

Before this all went down, I had Ragone pegged for a breakout season. Even before the spring game.

And boy, did he look good in the game. He could easily pull down 25 or 30 passes, score some touchdowns in the red zone and possibly make himself an NFL prospect.

With Ragone backing up Rudolph, I think ND has the best receiving corps in the country. It's probably an easier case than last year with Tate, just because Floyd and Rudolph were hurt.

Floyd and Rudolph with a whole slew of four star quality guys. Lots of VHT's as Phil Steele would say.

Yeah. Let's hope he's back for sure. I thought he was very impressive in the spring game. Fingers crossed.

Well, I looked below and didn't see any post or info. So I looked on my below and noticed a leg pimple. And maybe the start of a rash.

lol...

Back to the topic.

Mike Ragone may be the most underrated player on offense... I could actually see him putting up big numbers... (not as a big as Rudy, of course).

Which of your four legs? Hind or fore? Same questions for the rash. Did you lick the rash and nibble the pimple?

I look forward to Ragone contributing to a good season this year. I feel it's a shame that mere possession of marijuana is "criminal." Hell, in my days on campus had every student who was found to have smoked a bag or two of weed been suspended or expelled the place would have been a ghost town.
