All right all you Magnum fans, I could use a little Private Investigator help to recreate last night. I draw a blank after halftime. I remember bits of the first half and that I called a mutual friend of my recently departed ND classmate in Jacksonville.

The next thing I recall is answering a "bladder call" at about 3 AM. I had blood caked on the left side of my face and a nasty gash on my left eyebrow. I may have stumbled and come face-to-face with a cast iron radiator or antique wood dresser. There's a stain on my carpet that could be blood or Merlot.

When I awoke (late) this morning I had a memory lapse. I'll be fine once the swelling goes down and the wound heals, but I don't remember anything of the second half. I know that I "watched" it since the TV was still on.

My question is this: what the hell happened? And I mean both in the game and in my house. Looking at my computer screen from under my swollen eyelid/eyebrow is a pain.

The onset of your symptoms most likely began when Rees took the savage blow to the head. Your sensitivity to the suffering of others, coupled with your strong passion for Notre Dame football, and an overabundant ingestion of C2H5OH indicates an associative transference or factitious disorder.

You may wish to peruse somatoform disorders, Münchausen syndrome, and Ganser syndrome. Rest and hydration is strongly indicated.

Prophylaxis includes: 1. Leaving the cork in the bottle, and 2. Watching reruns of Magnum P.I. next week instead of "The Air Force Carpet Bombs Hendrix".

All I know is that after the game this forum was awash with kittehs and porn. And the mods were ok with it.

Look, I'm not about to deny that distilled alcohol might have played a role in this episode on an ND game day – especially a night game.

I'd had a couple of beers watching earlier games and a glass or two of red wine "heart medicine" as well as a Jameson at kickoff to honor my fallen ND comrade. SOP. My best guess is that I got my feet tangled in the cords recharging three dead cell phones to retrieve a phone number.

The strange part (aside from the blood/merlot stain on my carpet) is that I don't remember a damn thing of the second half or just what happened to me – in that order of importance.

Looking in the mirror, things are uglier than is usual. I probably could have benefitted from some stitches but its far too late for that. All I ask is that someone post a link to a full game playback. From what I've read it's clear that we won. I'd like to see it.

I was hoping that it was Kate Upton, in the bedroom with the ****.

Could have been for all I remember.

If that's the case ... DAMN!

Dshans, my friend, if you can't tell whether the stain was blood or merlot, then it probably means your blood is mostly merlot. So don't worry about it. Get well soon good sir.

I thank you for your good wishes. Blinking isn't nearly as painful now as it was this morning.

I'll deal with the red spots on my carpet in the morning ... without the need for four 200 mg tablets of ibuprofen, I hope.

Well, I woke up one more time this morning, so things can't be all that bad. My eye is a bit more swollen and a headache finally set in. Ibuprofen is my best friend right now.

I have no doubt that a concussion was involved. But I'm a hard-headed Irishman and should be fine.

So late, but let's follow protocol. How many fingers am I holding up?

I may have been knocked silly and things are still a bit blurry, but I don't think that's a finger you're holding up ...

Oh wow, I just don't know where to go with that one! Took me for a loop, I was expecting you to say six or something.

My youngest son (who was actually visiting his mom at his grandma's this weekend) was actually bitten in the face by one of three dogs, (no one knows which one or what happened even though there were more than three adults in the house at the time.) So, see? You are not the only one! I hope you feel better soon!
