II after game podcast mentioned a possibility of the game being pushed back? They didn’t sound real confident though.
To when? Saturday? I wouldn't object. Having a game like this on a Thursday night of what is a work/school week for basically everyone never seemed like a great idea. And now Penn State will have an extra two days of rest on us.
But moving it seems unlikely for all the logistical reasons.

Thursday? Why wouldn't both games be played on Saturday?

- I wish ND was healthy.

- The second half of the season has been a pissing match between who should be ranked higher, PSU or ND. Now we'll find out.

- I don't like to get carried away with early season results, so I'll ignore the USC game, BUT they struggled against OSU (who at the time was playing pretty uninspiring football) and should've lost to Minnesota late in their season, which I find note worthy.

- Marcus Freeman and staff are way better coaches than Franklin and his. PSU acts like a bully. Talks a big game. Until someone punches them in the mouth. ND is the exact type of team that will put them in their place.

- Does anyone have comparable metrics to PSU, Indiana, Georgia, and ND? I'm curious how these teams stack up statistically.

Stealing from poster at ISD:

Looking at some of the stats I think are important and comparing to GA.

Offense
Rushing yards:
PSU 202 per game (#16)
Georgia 121 per game (#102)

Rushing yards per attempt:
PSU 5.3 (#18)
Georgia 3.9 (#83)

Passing Yards:
Georgia 277 (#14)
PSU 234 (#53)

Passing yards per attempt:
PSU: 8.5 (#12)
Georgia 7.6 (#46)

Defense
Rushing yards per game
PSU: 101 (#8)
Georgia 131 (#33)

Rush yards per attempt:
PSU: 3.1 (#8)
Georgia 3.8 (#35)

Passing yards per game:
PSU: 188 (#21)
Georgia 214 (#53)

Passing yards per attempt:
PSU: 6.3 (#21)
Georgia: 6.7 (#37)

This will be a battle and on paper, a tougher one with a short turn around and a lot of travel.

Thanks for posting. Having watched both teams off and on this year, I would've never guessed that PSU was ranked so much higher in some of those categories.

Those stats are not opponent adjusted. Penn State played two good teams this year and looked bad both times. Georgia played a very tough schedule.

I have watched a lot of Penn State and I think they are a solid team. But there is going to be a big headset mismatch in this game.

I think we can all be safe in having supreme confidence in Freeman, Denbrock and Golden at this point. Especially Golden. I hope he releases the hounds on this Allar kid.

With how bought in ND fans are now, I gotta think every crowd will be pro-Irish the rest of the way. Sleeping giant awakened.

They are coached by James Franklin. I like our chances on that alone.

I think the trio Freeman, Golden, Denbrock is as big of a coaching advantage over Franklin, Allen and Kotelnecki as we’ve ever had in a CFP game

I don’t like either PSU coordinator. Allen is washed and Kotelnecki is way way too cute

I’ve been watching this for the last 20min or so. Never watched the whole game. I was 5.

Watched the game at work when I was in college. Bought the “Snow Bowl” t-shirt afterwards & wore it out. Good times.

I believe one of them asked Denbrock & he said they basically tabled it until after the UGA game. I doubt it as the priority will be on TV, local hotels, fans’ travel plans before the wellbeing of the players. If they moved it I suspect it could have a domino effect on the other game b/c there’s no way they have them on the same day.

I think we can rally and beat PSU. Not having the break this round could favor us in the title game, theoretically the toughest game, because we'll have an extra day on our opponent and I'd rather take our chances on less rest now vs then.

If it was less than a week I'd be mad, but really it's the equivalent of one team playing a Thursday game and the other a Saturday before a Saturday matchup. I haven't heard any stat that says that's a major advantage.

living here in PSU country....they travel very very well
I agree, a different poster said they don't travel well but I would definitely not say that. I grew up in Scranton and live in Philly now I am right in the middle of it lol. My point is just that ND fans have not been this energized maybe ever, so I gotta think the secondary market will skew towards ND.

How much does Penn State getting significantly more rest time and game prep impact this game?

Im struggling with the pressure to win “a big one” finally being gone.

Already shifted to a “we are playing with house money, whatever happens from here on out is fine mentality.”

Someone smack me. This team is far from done.
