So who is going to this game? Roll call

I have tickets but struggling to find anyone that wants to go. I just listed them but if they don't sell I'll probably fly in with my 7 year old son.

Given it is New Orleans, I was sort of hoping to spend NYE in New Orleans with an adult haha.

I was in Dallas randomly when ND played Bama in the Rose Bowl and ended up taking my step-son who was 7 at the time. Great memories despite the loss.

From 'Slap the Sign' -

Notre Dame football fans might be able to breathe a sigh of relief after head coach Marcus Freeman offered an encouraging update on star defensive lineman Rylie Mills. Speaking on SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt after the Irish win over Indiana on Friday night, Freeman struck an optimistic tone about Mills' prognosis following an injury scare that saw him leave the contest early, limping badly.

"There is optimism," Freeman stated. "I won't get into details on what they told me, but it sounds like it's not season-ending. We just gotta get him right here in the next 10-11 days and get him ready for this upcoming contest down in New Orleans."

I think Denbrock was conservative & the staff knew early they could handle IU without opening too much of the playbook.

With that said, I still think Leonard is deathly afraid of throwing a pick & looks way too uncomfortable in the pocket. He needs to be able to throw the ball on a loaded box.

Otherwise we’re playing checkers & not chess.

We had multiple one on ones where he really should have been looking off the high safety, turning & throwing the deep 1v1.

Even if we show the willingness to do that it’ll open up the lanes a bit more for Love/Price.

Speaking of that.. I do think Denbrock dumbed down the play calling, so against Georgia I’d like to see the run game attack the perimeter more.. They are stout up the middle but not as disciplined as they have been in the past..

They miss a ton of tackles.. Love/Price in space is what we want.. what we don’t want is a jittery Leonard bouncing around the pocket afraid to throw the ball.

Also, why don’t they consider a package with Love in the slot & Price in the backfield? Doesn’t this seem obvious? Love is a generational athlete, it’s not like he has brick hands.

The creativity with both on the field would be limitless & create stress on the D.

Defensively it’s obviously the health of Cross, Young & Mills.. Golden hit his stride a while ago & they are playing incredible ball. The fact that we lost Bmo/Mickey & Moore/Gray just stepped in & production stayed elite is such a testament to Mickens & Golden.

Our D line is healthy & we compete at a high level defensively.. simply put.

Scary to say but as this tightens up (Georgia, Penn St? Oregon?) I think it all comes down to Riley’s ability to throw.

If he can find some comfort in the passing game I think we’re National Champions..

If he continues to struggle I think our ability to rely on big runs & late QB scrambles runs out against stiffer competition.

.
That’s what I meant to say 😂, and I completely agree with the perimeter runs.

Glad we played on Friday. 11 day gap. Little more than a week but also not almost 4 weeks Georgia has had off. Sure I’d like to be fresh and not have injuries but ND shouldn’t be rusty and should come out guns blazing.
Agree. That long of time off ain’t good for teams. Guys could be up late, some could be drinking, not as conditioned. Lots of issues could develop from that.

Kentucky should have beaten Georgia, same for Ga. Tech. This isn’t the juggernaut of yesteryear. They should not be taken lightly, however it’s time for ND to show up and win one of these.

While I agree with you re: not being the juggernaut it was during the national championship years, this Georgia team is still an absolute handful and will be the best team ND plays this year by far.

A motivated Georgia team is still scary. ND will need to have its best game of the season if they're going to win.

This. We had one pass of more than 10 yards all night, and it was late when the game was in hand. With IU completely stymied and unable to do anything against our defense, we were able to be conservative and mostly take care of the ball without being aggressive, just hitting short routes and checkdowns all night.
