Who do they have behind Stockton at QB? I have.a feeling that, if he runs the ball a lot, he's going to get knocked out of the game. He doesn't seem to avoid contact as evident by that blast he took vs Texas. He probably learned a valuable lesson that day, but I still think the Irish D are going to hit him hard a few times and I just don't see him lasting the game if he tries to run a bunch.

Edit...I decided to take advantage of the interweb and look it up. Looks like the 3d stringer is Jaden Rashada. I remember his recruitment drama with the NIL lawsuit vs Univ of Fla and he ended up at Arizona St. Looks like he played a bit as a freshman at ASU, but went 1-2 with 4 TD's and 3 picks. Transferred to GA afterwards and hasn't seen the field this season. Would be awesome to knock out Stockton and get to face this kid!

I think this game comes down to if we can score and play defense.

But really our DL vs their OL is the game to me.

Agreed we have to stop their run game and short passes to TEs. Etienne and true frosh Frazier both tough speady backs. Cash Jones 3rd down back that can block and catch well. Oscar Delp will be the main TE target. New QB Stockton is definitely more a dual threat running QB than Beck. Wr average that have a lot of drops this year!
Also, their DL against our OL. Jalon Walker, Williams and Stackhouse are all NFL talents but haven’t played consistent all year long. Starks in the defensive back field tough as well but also inconsistent. Let’s Go ☘️

I assume the crowd will be heavy in UGAs favor, going to be rough getting big Irish crowds to possibly 4 games

I think the opposite. UGA fans are much more likely to think "eh, I'll go to the Orange Bowl instead of spending money on this one."

They have had a month to plan for this game (tickets, hotel, air) very short notice for the teams winning this week

Riley has played poorly after byes all season. He gets better with more work so playing the week before UGA is a good thing. I expect a spread power offense with some play action and tunnel screens mixed in. This will be a blood bath and hopefully we can come out on top and still healthy.
Four playoff games will be a true attrition.

The UGA OL is massive. Mykel Williams is elite and will play edge in The League and play it well.

Battle in the trenches is going to be fierce. I'm concerned if Mills and Cross are not 100%.

We’ll need the defense and special teams to put us in some solid field position. I don’t see us sustaining a ton of long drives—it’s not really our forte.

However as the metrics say, IU’s defense is supposedly legit—especially their DL—and Riley looked really good throwing the football at times last night, so there’s reason to be encouraged.

We can’t leave points on the field like we did last night.

UGA has some games they fell behind early by being outplayed. Woke up in the second half to win. Those weren’t against a defense like ND’s. I’m hoping UGA having this much time off comes out a little rusty or out of sync.

This is part of my concern, they’re gonna be one of the best OL’s we face. If we can’t get consistent pressure on the QB it could be a long game.

If we get creative with blitzes we can disrupt the passing game enough to have a chance. They have dropped a lot of passes this season so keeping it close to one dimensional will keep us in the game.

But these are also the type of games that field goals will make a difference. Let’s hope it doesn’t come down to field goals.

Their WR’s aren’t that good UL, USC, Indiana all have better WR’s even GT

Their strength is running the ball and if we have a weakness it's stopping the run. Paycheck earning game for Golden.

Stop the run, and in reverse, stay in short yardage situations via the run game on offense. It's that simple. Put the game in Stockton's hands. Make him crumble under the pressure of the moment. Oh, and get out to an early lead.

It's all there for them. Need Mills and Spindler to be available and healthy for this one. It will be a rock fight in all likelihood.

I think we gotta have Mills healthy, Young healthy, and be/stay healthy in the secondary. This is the one game where I'm like "damn it would be nice to have Ben Morrison" because you could play man everywhere, key on the QB run, and force this guy to beat you with his arm.

On offense, it's all about the OL and QB run game. They are still big/strong/fast and the teams that get to them do so by running the ball NOT dropping back dissecting them with their pass game. Dart was only 13/22 when Ole Miss beat them and put up 28, but he ran for 50 yards on 8 carries. Georgia Tech ran it for 260 which then opened up explosive passing plays. Milroe same thing... 117 and 2 TDs on the ground == big passing plays in the first half. Second half they played contain on him and he wasn't nearly as effective throwing the ball.

good thing is - Irish have 10/11 days to get healthy - hopefully the injuries of last night have that time to heal

For me it's Mills and Spindler 1a and 1b. Need Mills dominance badly but our interior OL has to get push if we're going to win that game. I like Pendleton's future but he doesn't have the push yet. Really hope Spindler's injury doesn't keep him out of the game.

I think Denbrock was conservative & the staff knew early they could handle IU without opening too much of the playbook.

With that said, I still think Leonard is deathly afraid of throwing a pick & looks way too uncomfortable in the pocket. He needs to be able to throw the ball on a loaded box.

Otherwise we’re playing checkers & not chess.

We had multiple one on ones where he really should have been looking off the high safety, turning & throwing the deep 1v1.

Even if we show the willingness to do that it’ll open up the lanes a bit more for Love/Price.

Speaking of that.. I do think Denbrock dumbed down the play calling, so against Georgia I’d like to see the run game attack the perimeter more.. They are stout up the middle but not as disciplined as they have been in the past..

They miss a ton of tackles.. Love/Price in space is what we want.. what we don’t want is a jittery Leonard bouncing around the pocket afraid to throw the ball.

Also, why don’t they consider a package with Love in the slot & Price in the backfield? Doesn’t this seem obvious? Love is a generational athlete, it’s not like he has brick hands.

The creativity with both on the field would be limitless & create stress on the D.

Defensively it’s obviously the health of Cross, Young & Mills.. Golden hit his stride a while ago & they are playing incredible ball. The fact that we lost Bmo/Mickey & Moore/Gray just stepped in & production stayed elite is such a testament to Mickens & Golden.

Our D line is healthy & we compete at a high level defensively.. simply put.

Scary to say but as this tightens up (Georgia, Penn St? Oregon?) I think it all comes down to Riley’s ability to throw.

If he can find some comfort in the passing game I think we’re National Champions..

If he continues to struggle I think our ability to rely on big runs & late QB scrambles runs out against stiffer competition.
