Morning, fellas: NOLA native here. Let me know if y’all need any recommendations on where to stay, where to avoid, where to eat and drink, sights to see.

Good luck, men, and Go Irish …. Beat Bulldogs!
As a third party objective fan, how do you see this one shaping up?

This would be an obvious one I would have gone to (wife loves New Orleans I could easily swing a trip as a Christmas gift) if I didn't go to the game on Friday. I still think we chose right because wow, but anyone who is going, be loud as hell for me.

ND is going to have big trouble against their pass rush and DL. That's the only real spot I see, that could cost us the game. The equalizer may be Gunner. Not very many teams at any level are better off with their backup who hasn't played much all year. ND defense is elite...everyone talking 10-7 or 13-9 are on the right track imo.

Found a hotel in NOLA for a reasonable price, ticket prices are dropping, just need to find a reasonably priced flight.

Yea I think it comes down to few big plays which we're better suited for. Riley will need to be able to throw the ball but I imagine we'll be in a defensive dogfight..

Which D will give up the big plays? Thankfully we have Love/Price who have been breaking big runs since A&M.

Both teams are going to struggle to run the ball IMO. The key may be which QB does more damage with their legs. I see a low scoring game.

I agree that ND def is better against the big play and ND offense has a better chance to make one...I see you Love!

UGA like OSU loves slant routes and trying to get playmakers in space. Those types have teams have killed us in the past. But I do believe this year is different.

I want ND to get this dub more than I have wanted them to win any game ever. Seriously. Even more than in the 2012 NCG because that team felt like they were playing with house money.

A year 3 coach beating SEC champ Georgia could entirely wipe out the last vestige of lingering negativity around ND football in the modern era.

I'll also say this...Gunner Stockton against ND will look more like Garrett Gilbert (young fans may need to Google him) than Cardale Jones.....I can almost guarantee that!

What hotel would you guess the ND team would stay in down in New Orleans? Don't they usually stay at the Omni? My 10 year old wants to try and bump into J-Love if we are just walking around.

What’s interesting is Texas was able to throw all over Georgia but Georgia also had 6 sacks we gotta protect Leonard you might see a lot of Williams in there to block

Georgia has issues with mobile qbs this year which obviously benefits us. Nervous about our run defense against them we just are too small up the middle

UGA DBs aren't nearly as scary as years past. Jackson will hit you but he lacks a speed burst. Bolden is young but is a great football player. JF in space should be able to eat. Everett is their best CB, and has been around during the dominant years. Protect RL we should be fine.

Idk why, but I often think back to this interview with Tranquil after the 2017 loss.

We've punished a lot of teams since then. It's time to finally punish Georgia.

I’m not as familiar with Georgia as you are, so I’ll defer to you, but I actually thought Jackson’s speed stuck out to me. Maybe it’s just because he’s white? 🤷‍♂️

A lot of people are treating this UGA team like George Pickens or Brock Bowers are still on offense, let alone Ladd McConkey. Their non-RB offensive weapons are objectively worse than about a third of the teams ND has played this year. Stack the box and make Stockton beat you. I’m not convinced that the team that leads the nation in dropped passes will be able to beat this secondary.

Expect offensively two similar teams. That jailbreak screen Collins/Faison/Greathouse occasionally run, Georgia runs it about 3x more. Occasional deep shot to Arian Smith he usually drops. Offense is best when TEs are involved but typically are not. Lot of dump offs to their white walk on RB Cash Jones.

Their run game will probably looks as good as it has all year. Etienne more healthy. Best lineman Ratledge more healthy. Dual threat QB now.

This should be a similar to A&M game plan. They absolutely need Rylie Mills and Cross healthy.

Bingo...I'm only concerned about our O-line play. In the 2 games against Texas they had 13 sacks and 25 tackles for a loss. RL may be able to offset that some being mobile. But UGA is going to be a totally different animal in terms of Dline and LB that ND has faced this year. Keep RL upright or from running for his life. ND wins!

Obviously Georgia is talented, but overall they are a a notch or two below the last few seasons. They will have trouble moving the ball against NDs defense. RL will improvise some big plays in this one. I think it's about a 10 point ND win.
That’s assuming Mills & Cross are close to 100% which the latter is more questionable than the former right now
