... About the lack of prospects with high interest in us or have us #1. I wasn't really that concerned yesterday but with 3 very legit prospects dropping us off their radar in the last 24 hours I've gotten a little bit worried. Do you guys think we should be worried?

Keep in mind how often recruits flip their allegiances during the season. Don't fret my pet. Our staff will stay on them and we'll get at least one to flip before NSD.

I only really want 1 or 2 more commits before the season starts. USC is going to be ridiculous.

In other words, it's June. Seriously, June.

Think if we start off 8 or 9 straight wins. Then think if we do with young guys getting lots of PT in the 2 deep. That right there will bring kids such as Marshall around knowing we have a few voids to fill stat while winning at the same time. I am confident we will get another top 10 class that is going to go under Longo before seeing the field!!

HURRAY!!!

If we win, i could care less. Recruits look at winning and if he win i know that they will look. Recruits come to chase that crystal ball so we better start chasing it. Greenberry, Sheppard, Darby, Decker all studs i am not worried at all. We just had Andrus Peat on campus , John Theus is coming this summer, Avery Johnson, Brian Kimbrow, plenty of other guys i am forgetting also. If your worried about recruiting than you need to find something else to do.

It's normal for lack of high interest in ND at this time of year. Despite the seemingly good relationship between ND Admissions and the Kelly. It's JUNE. NSD is a looong way away. There are a lot of grades to be earned, ACTs/SATs to take, football to play, relationships to be honed, and 17 seasons to be wipe away. Most of these kids weren't born the last time ND was a contender. It's a marathon not a sprint.

Also keep in mind ND's got something like 150 (I lost count) offers out (and they're not done) for something like 20 slots. That means about 130 "No, Thank You" from either recruits OR ND. The remaining Rejections/Acceptances Elsewhere to Verbals Ratio is going to run around 12 to 1. "Many are called but few are chosen".

I'm worried that we won't have enough spots for all of them when we reel off 10 wins!

That's my optimistic post for the week.

My only concern is that kids who were once strongly considering ND are now eliminating them without even visiting. Getting kids on campus is always half the battle.

I know we really had a chance but Dwayne Stanford and Adolphus Washington canceled their visit

I said as much over at the other site.

Guys like Jones, Banner, Peat, Marshall and Spence want their time in the sun and wont be annoucing until the all star games or NSD.

I too would rather hold out until we(and more importantly ^^^^^ they) see the on the field product.

College football is so fluid fellas. Case in point: Auburn. Chizik was litterally being laughed at when he was announced as the HC and now, they are having to tell highly ranked 4 stars that they dont have room. Win and they will come and win at ND and ALL of them will want to come. How else can you explain an 8-5 team getting what we got last year?

When we win, the onslaught of recruits will be an embarrashment. I mean, ND was 8-5, 6-6 and 7-6 and they land Aaron Lynch, Stephon Tuitt, George Atkinson and Ishaq Williams?

Only ND!

I'm not as concerned with who we'll end up with as much as I am USC, Stanford, Miami, Texas, Oklahoma, and Michigan, who seem to be loading up... I'm not looking forward to these teams being loaded when we're going to be playing ALL of them in the future. We'll be just fine, but it's going to be hard to have the best class out of those mentioned above.

I know some people are losing sleep over recruits going elswhere and cancelling visits. If last year has taught us anything, its not so much how you start, but really how you finish. Add to that the fact that this staff has and will develop these kids only shows promising things in the future. Let Southern Cal load up, Kiffin can't coach. Stanford has Pollian, but without Harbaugh, I'm quite interested to see how they perform.texas and Oklahoma are always going to load up, and Hoke will still have to prove he's just more than a one year wonder.

When ND starts playing me I'll worry about recruiting, but until then I'll let the coaches worry about it. They seem to know what their doing. :)

Couple things...

1. ITS JUNE.

2. Michigan is getting some nice prospects, yet nothing compared to the class we brought in this year that just got to campus.

3. Michigan is getting bodies, instead of quality.

4. ND is sitting nice with ELITE talent/prospects. UM is getting good players, but nothing that we dont have already.

5. BK 1 losing season in his career. Bet you he knows what he has to do and when he has do it.

6. ITS JUNE.

I'm personally pissed about Georgia competing with us in a stupid videogame tradition contest...

It's June.

Yeah that is dumb, Notre Dame vs. The whole SEC. Plus it is a damn dog.

I think that's what pisses me off the most: It's a fat dog. A dumb one.

(I know they're cute)

And the whole SEC thing: **** those haters.

I hate them- the SEC. They're good. But I'd never throw a vote because of my hatred.

They have low standards. We could take knuckleheads and destroy what is our beautiful tradition and campus. But the price would be too high. They hate us for that. And I hate them in return for hating us.

To quote George Carlin: "F*** the f***ing f***ers."

Our next game against the SEC is going to be massive. We need to prove that it's possible to field a championship football program with integrity.
