So in light of NDinLA, soon to be SB, meeting up with Neuheisel, I thought we could share any kind of brush with fame you might have had in the past.
I'll start with Rosa Parks, met her on a plane from Arkansas to Memphis. Very sweet lady, se even hugged me after our chat. Will never forget it.
George Clinton, yes that George Clinton. Waiting for a flight from Detroit to Dallas. Again, very nice dood, could have chatted all day about music.
When I was but a wee pup my Dad would take me to Detroit Tiger games. This one particular day we were getting autographs near the field when Kirk Gibson walked by. There was probably 5 or 6 kids in a group, me included, who were calling for him to drop by and drop some autographs and hand shakes. This group included one special needs boy who had been waiting a few years to meet his idol Kirk. He walked right by us, less than 4 feet away, without a single acknowledgement.
Luckily for me Buddy Bell of the Texas Rangers happened to be finishing batting practise, I called him over, my Dad snapped some pictures, we got his autograph and chatted for about 10 minutes. Later on my Dad had sent a blown up picture to Buddy care of the Texas Rangers to see if he would autograph it and send it back, he did. One of my favorite people to this day.
