... several people add-on unnecessarily negative comments about him. All over the place.
Get off my butt. I never said he was ready for a HC job. Why even post this?
I posted a reply to your comment, because I've not read anything negative about him other than on his coaching aptitude, which is fair game in this situation.

Colts cut the list to about half. Quinn pulled his name.

INDIANAPOLIS — Two more Colts head coaching candidates have reportedly made it to the final round of interviews in Indianapolis.

The Colts are bringing back Packers special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia, according to the NFL Network, and Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen, who is obviously coaching in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Indianapolis initially wanted to bring back seven of the original 14 candidates.

If that remains the case, the Colts’ list is currently at six. Interim coach Jeff Saturday interviewed Wednesday, Denver defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero interviewed Thursday, Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris interviewed Friday and Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale interviewed on Saturday.

Raheem Morris the frontrunner?

Now that the 49'ers are done, I wonder if DeMeco Ryans will interview?

League reporters have all indicated DeMeco to Houston is basically a done deal at this point and the announcement could be in the next day or two. I'd be very surprised if any further interviews happened elsewhere.

Per The Athletic

As of now, seven names remain on the list: interim coach Jeff Saturday, Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, Packers special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia, Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale, Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen and Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan.

Furthermore, based on recent conversations I’ve had with those familiar with the search, I don’t get the sense that Saturday remains a front-runner for the job, despite what some national reports have indicated. We know, with this franchise, that anything is possible — and owner Jim Irsay will make the final call — but at this point, a Saturday hire seems less likely.

Saturday would be a very lazy hire imo. I'm not saying the guy can't coach, but a head coaching position with absolutely zero coaching experience in general? I'm fine with the interim, b/c that's a babysitter job at that point in the season, but that would be just proving that Irsay is even worse of an owner than I already thought he was.

Just read that Saturday is the expected hire.

This whole long search was likely a horse and pony show to the fans about due diligence when Irsay had his man from the get go.

I sure hope that's wrong. Where did you hear that?

From the IndyStar on Thursday.

INDIANAPOLIS — An extensive Colts coaching search is approaching another crossroads.

Indianapolis brought Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn back for another interview Thursday, and the Colts are scheduled to fly to Philadelphia to interview Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen for a second time Saturday.

The Colts have a big decision to make after Steichen’s interview is complete.

From there, Indianapolis could hold a third round of interviews with a whittled-down list of candidates or decide to make a move on the candidate it wants.

A third round is possible but is far from set in stone, a source with knowledge of the search confirmed to IndyStar on Thursday. Another league source indicated a third round of interviews hasn’t happened in any NFL coaching search in the past four decades.

Zak Keefer is one of the most well regarded reporters on the Indy beat (via The Athletic and previously IndyStar) and he has said more than once that he feels it's unlikely to be Saturday.

Morris, Callahan, and Steichen seem to be the finalists right now.
Agree with all this. If you really wanted to just hire Saturday as the outcome, you would have done it by now. There would be no point in waiting after the 2nd round of interviews. Every day this goes on, it looks more likely it’s Steichen.

He's a great choice to pair up with one of Young/Stroud/Levis. Love this hire.

I would have much rather ND finished off their vacancy and the Colts end up with the dumpster fire, but this only makes me about 75% as pissed as I was.

I don’t know enough to be happy or upset. So I guess I’ll wait. If he brings Hurts with him I guess I won’t complain. I cringe a little knowing who he’s had at QB and who he doesn’t currently with the Colts.

Weird dynamics with the Colts and Eagles hiring each others staff. Maybe we can trade Ryan for Hurts! Reich was the OC at Philly, but he wasn't calling the plays and his inexperience showed. The best part is we no longer are subject to Frank Reich trying to fool the D that they are going for it on 4th down.

Looks like this guy is good at developing QB's, so getting one of the top two QB's has to be in the cards.

Also hired Tom Manning from UoC Bearcats and grabbed the Giants RB coach.
