By addressing it you mean you disagreed with a point that is blatantly and demonstrably true. Stop misrepresenting others' positions and arguments so that you can more easily rebut them.

As for the story, I see that it's reported as false. I didn't bother to research it before responding. I usually look deeper if a story seems questionable, but this one was one I just reacted to without spending a few minutes on. Big deal. We all do it occasionally. If that's your biggest "gotcha!" moment, good for you. I assumed a plausible story was true. You go out of your way to spread disinformation and misrepresent others. I think I can live with you catching me not researching a minor X post.

- The CA State Senator is pointing out that these residents should be counted in the next census and it won't be a fair redistricting without them (FYI, Texas itself has about 80% of the number of illegal immigrants as CA has)
- Do you expect the other party to just sit back and say, "go ahead and rig the election so that our party will never have a chance to win any part of our government again."
- The whole illegal "immigration is a big issue" and the "they shouldn't be counted in any future census," are just further bullshit propaganda talking points in the New Right's intentional strategy to weaken, if not destroy, the Democratic Party so that they can create an effective one-party authoritarian government for the country moving forward and then implement their twisted Theocratic government and one that is mostly for European-descended whites only
- And so that there will never be any future opposition to this autocratic government
- The Border is shut down at this point; we don't see very many hard-core criminal immigrants being detained/deported; and if anything, ICE is simply going after long-time resident and essential labor for a lot of US businesses and farms, severely damaging the economy

What Stephen Miller (have your heard his ridiculous Pee Wee Herman-sounding anti-immigrant rants?) and the other lunatic New Right admin folks are really trying to do with anti-immigration policies, ICE enforcement, and the removal of brown-skinned immigrant residents is to:
- Remove the non-white, non-European residents
- Remove a large chunk of historically Democratic-voting US residents (citizens for this) in order to get vote counts and redistricting efforts to support their one-party plan
- Damage the historically Democratic-voting cities and states/governors in the process
- Create antagonism and chaos in these cities and states so they can justify perpetual federalized state militia forces in place in these places, which further helps to reduce the brown populations suppress Democratic voting
