I went to the Colts Packers game this Sunday (and the Packers isn't what this thread is about) and someone sold my ticket to several people. After going to the ticket office I was allowed to stay only because we were the first ones to scan our tickets in. Everyone else what screwed. Im sick and tired of these scammers. I would be willing to bank his phone and email were throw aways. What he didn't know was I snapped a picture of his license plate when we did the swap. I don't know if he thought that far ahead to make sure his plates were fake or not but I want to know if I can find out who he is and where he lives to find out if it is that guy as a civilian or is this something I have to deal with the cops? I don't know if I can get a picture of him from his plate. All those I talked to said he drove the same car. My hesitation with the cops is the local cops blanket response to all internet scams is "it was done overseas" and "it sucks to be you". Before you jump me about saying that they are both quotes told to me from the local police. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also feel free to PM me if you don't want to post your response here.

These cockroaches are better dealt with by exterminators...

As wimpy as this guy seems, he could easily use a gun or knife and be gone.

It's been my experience that scum of the earth have nothing to lose.

I would try to contact law enforcement for certain.

Chances are the plates are legit... Good move by you.

I hate thieves.

Hopefully someone here knows a cop that will follow up on the license plate.

You should give it to the police then make sure the other people that were scammed have filed a police report and know what info you have on the guy.

I'm sorry that that happened to you Jade. I most certainly would not pursue this on your own. If someone is that sorry to scam people like that then there is no telling what other horrible things they are capable of. I would contact the police, the team, hell the news stations if you have to. You have his plate number and if it is real there is certainly a case for fraud and its the police's job to handle that. Good luck on your pursuit of justice!

Maybe bring it up to someone with authority in the ticket office? There is no way they appreciate what that dirt bag is doing. You might benefit with them pushing your cause to the authorities.

The ticket office told us to deal with the cops. The game was sold out so they said they couldn't do anything for the other people. The first couple filed a report and were supposed to be escorted out of the building but the cop was their neighbor so he let them stay. Unfortunately for the next two groups I told them if they waited for the cop his is supposed to escort them out so they took off and watched it from the standing area. I know if I go to the Fort Wayne Police Department they will tell me the crime happened in Indy so I will have to deal with them since it is out of their jurisdiction.

Jade and I were lucky to have gotten there early. For t he first woman that came in with duplicate tickets it was her first pro game, just like it was for me. It had the next woman crying when she found out . The 3 pairs of people that came in after us had their tickets scanned and should have not even been all owed in the stadium. The ticket takers must not have been paying attention to their scanners. I have no idea how many other pairs were turned away at the gates.
This hunk of crap told Jade that he was heading to the ND/Miami game and he was a Colts season ticket holder. We sat next to the actual season ticket holder during the game and he had sold two tickets NFL Tickets. The scammer probably scammed a bunch of ND fans at that game too.

Jade, my man. I work in law enforcement in Indiana and when I return to work on Thursday I will make some calls and see what the best avenue I can find for you to give the information to. I am thinking your best bet is to call IMPD (Indianapolis Metro) and contact the Criminal Investigations Division. I will see if I can figure something out for you.

Just curious, but was this guy a scalper or someone you met on Craigslist/ebay?
