Jeez, I may as well hang it up. If the unwashed rabble picks up on grammar, spelling, punctuation and capitalization I'm a goner.

When making corrections please use track changes.

People need something to increase their post count.

Fbolt, huh? What's a track change? Why do people need to increase their collective post count? Do you know what the good news is that is coming?

EDIT:

IrishinFL, I just saw your video after I posted. Heelarious.

That is totally false. His last "big news" was regarding Floyd... and he was spot effin on! In fact, I cant recall when he was incorrect about any of his predictions. He is the only guy on this site that I put stock into their, "I heard it from a source" comments.

Which is unfortunate, because I am going to be an unhappy camper if Mauk commits.

It was titled "Another Surprise coming". First dated 1/25/11. After a week of anticipation and waiting, nothing happened. Supposedly Jordan Prestwood was going to transfer to Notre Dame......but wait.........wait..........wait.............................................nothing happened!!!!!!
Weird how these things work.

I'm not saying nothing will happen this week, in fact, something most likely will happen. Its the spring game, ND is bound to at least get one commit. I could have just as easily put out a post saying something will happen, and then play the waiting game, so when something does happen, i jump in and take credit.

Also a coincindence that this "surprise" is coming right before the spring game when chances are high that something could happen just like last time the "surprise" post came right before nat'l signing day, when as you might guess, chances are high something will happen.

Not saying he's wrong, just saying I'm not buying it. I hope I'm wrong. I hope I'm so far from being correct that 5 blue chip recruits commit tomorrow. That would be nice.

This is probably off-base on my part, but I looked up some recruiting status "data" two days ago and posted it on the Lemming thread, but I think I had the worst timing and maybe it dropped into the bushes. Anyway, begging your indulgence, because maybe SOMEONE would find interest in this, I'm reposting it here.

" We all know that we have two early commitments, and I wondered how everyone else was doing. I looked at the teams with the top 50 rated classes [Rivals] last season. Most of them are in similar situations to ND, but others not. Texas A&M has 17 commits and Texas 15. TCU has 8. Alabama has 10. Florida has 9. LSU has 8. Miami and FSU have 7. The state of Texas and the deep South are hustling. [maybe in more ways than one].

On the other hand, OSU [with 5] and PSU [with 4] lead the mid-west Big East area, with no one else with more than two. [well, WVU has 3]. Out on the west coast, USC stands alone at 5 with no one else more than two. Texas schools, the deep SEC, OSU and USC: big surprises, eh?

54 of the 165 early commitments are from Texas. If you want to go there, you better feed early. 41 are from Georgia and Florida. California, only 10; Ohio 8. Louisiana has 11. There is one recruit early signed to a top 50 program from the area of NJ north [he is from MA]. [I know that this is a "moving target" but it was accurate today].

Post is getting long, so I'll skip to the next one."

Recruiting status, part two:
So far these programs have taken 80 offensive players and 63 defensive ones. There are 3 kickers. The balance are "athletes" headed for DB or WR probably in the majority. Of the 11 QBs committing, 5 are from Texas, and two from Florida. Of the 16 RBs committing, "only" three are from Texas. They are much more geographically diverse so far.

There are 20 WRs and 27 O-Linemen. On the linemen: 9 are from Texas, but 9 are also from the "big-ten area" [OH,IL,IN, MI --- 5 of these are Ohioans]. The deep south also produced 8. None are from the west coast or the mid-lands or the East.

Defensively, 18 DEs have committed, and 13 DTs. ALL of these guys are from Texas or the South except for two MD players and one Californian. GO SOUTH YOUNG DIACO!! 21 linebackers have committed and only 11 definitely described DBs.

What all this means, who knows? But it seems to speak to not only the urgency that the southern powers have in creating a base for their yearly class, but probably the strong insinuation of their influence into Texan and southern high schools [that kids would pull the trigger so quickly]. I also found the surge by A&M and TCU intriguing; they seem to be able to fist-fight Texas a bit now.

Paterno seems to have awakened from his coma a bit, and Frank Beamer is feeling more urgency at VT now that UVA is challenging him in his backyard. Both teams from the national championship game lag behind their rivals significantly --- perhaps the fruits of the stinks that have come up.

Well, enough. If I knew what it meant, I'd stay with it a while longer, but ... ???

I wouldn't worry too much. The staff usually has a slow start in terms of actual commitments early in the recruiting cycle, but gets rolling pretty quickly as they develop relationships with the recruits.

I'm worried about RB tho. We only have a few offers out, and we are not getting much interest from those guys.

I've been asked what the source was for the "status quo" recruiting statistics numbers, positions, and geographical distribution above. I wish I had a more authoritative base, but it was just me going to Rivals and plowing down through all their team listings and noting the relevant information beside each player's name. I could have slightly miscounted therefore, but it won't be by much.

p.s. I quoted my own previous post and that probably created confusion about having some external source.

Listen the Prestwood thing was posted all over the internet prior to me bringing it here. If you're going to blame me you should first recognize that Prestwood currently is and was enrolled at FSU when this info came out. He obviously would have to transfer out after the semester. Will it happen? In this case, we will obviously more that one commit, happens every year. I just said I know of one. Would it make you feel better if he committed before the BG game? I'M SURE THIS ISN'T ON THE INTERNET YET

RUMOR down here in the south from a legit source at VolQuest.com is saying that Mauk recently became a silent commit. The news is important down here because Gunner Kiel is very high on Alabama and Tennessee.

Early prediction is that if the Mauk commit is true, Kiel winds up rollin with the tide.

Take that for what it's worth ladies. I think everyone understands how this recruiting game works, and that rumors fly around daily.

It would shock me if he ended up at Alabama. If Mauk commits, I do think Kiel goes somewhere else, but I thought they would be in this order:

1) Oklohoma
2) Michigan
2) Tennessee (he is a big Payton Manning fan)

An Alabama choice would be coming out of left field.

Not the case at all my friend. Kiel is very high on Alabama. It's a legit source. Im not saying he ends up at Bama guarenteed, but it certainly would not be out of left field.
