Yes, I am getting married. Seems weird for me to say but we are "semi-eloping" in Vegas. I considering eloping when no one knows and it is sudden. Well ours is sudden but we will have guest. Her dad goes to Vegas on a regular basis for Texas Hold'em Tournaments. He was going out again, we heard and talked to eachother about finally tying th knot. We have been together for about 5 years, some long distance. It will be done in Planet Hollywood. I have never been to Vegas so this should be a great experience. Five days in Vegas. The sucky part is that we are getting married on October 1st, the Purdue game. I might have to miss it. I might try to bet on some games, never done it before so if anyone knows how it exactly works it will be appreciated.

Along with that, I am talking to a recruiter to get BACK into the military. Hopefully it can be combat, in particular Special Forces. Last time I was rejected because I have no depth perception. Alot of changes in the near future for me.

Noooo...Don't do it...its Sooo dangerous....you will never be quite the same. But I'm glad to hear you are heading back to the Military

Hehehehe...I kid...

Thanks for your service, and willingness to go back, and Congrats on getting married.

Thank you, I think it will be fun to go back to the military. Been thinking about it alot and I really can not believe I am getting married. Especially so soon. Less than two months away, at least it will be in Vegas.

#1 cause for divorce is marriage. I would NEVER do it but congrats anyway bud.

Thanks, if it wasn't for me going back to the military we would probably wait but we would want to take advantage of all the benefits the military offers for married couples. That is one of the main reasons, but not the only one.

Despite all of the funny replies, marriage is awesome as long as you're married to your best friend. Enjoy it!

I couldn't hang with the special forces type... Just not for me, but I can relate to the military. I really miss it. I retired after 20 years and civilian life just doesn't provide the same feeling and I really miss the relationships I built with the people I met in the military. Congrats, I hope it works out for you.

So last night my fiance had her bachelorette party but her good friend who put it together told me I should go because she was taking everyone to a Drag Queen show. Never been to a Drag show, let alone a gay club where it took place. It was definitely an experience, some of the gay guys there you would never know they were guys. They looked just like women.

At one put they asked if any straight guys were in the room, of course my party pointed me out because I am a quiet guy. So they pulled me on stage along with another straight guy and two straight women.

The guy or girl however you want to look at a Drag Queen, asked us on stage very in depth questions about different sexual things. Then would laugh because of course they are gay.

The weirdest part was she made us do a dirty dancing contest, so I was suppose to grind on another female while my fiance was in the crowd. Pretty awkward. But the Drag Queen said that was boring so, she made me dance with the straight guy and the two straight girls dance together.

Talk about weird, but the other guy was pretty drunk so we had fun with it and we won by the crowds applause. So we got free drinks and shots. Not too bad, considering it was probably the single weirdest thing I have ever done in my life.

Just can't wait for my bachelor party in Vegas, should be a little better than a Drag Show. Although I will admit it was pretty entertaining.

I did when I got home for sure. ha.

I have nothing against gay people but I am the farthest thing from being gay. I will admit though it was fun, I just don't ever want to be on stage again. lol

My understanding is that the Drag Show you put on will be significantly better than hers, Whatever floats your boat.

Well I am getting all my stuff together. We leave out from Dallas at 6AM but we will be leaving our place at about 3:45 because it is about a 45min drive to the airport.

Never been to Vegas, can not wait should be about 25 people there for the wedding. Enough to make things fun, maybe even Hangover-ish. ha.

Things worked out lucky enough that we are having a reception from 2:30 until 5:30. The ND game starts at 5, so we should be able to watch alittle bit at the reception. Head back to the hotel and watch the rest because we were able to get VIP tickets to a club but most people don't go out until at least 9 or later. So my dreams have been answered and I will be able to watch the game.

Two of my brothers were married during ND games, one got married during the 2005 USC game.

Oh and I would like to do the updates for the press conference next week but I won't be able to because our planes leaves Vegas on Tuesday. So hopefully beryirish can give updates again, or anyone else for that matter.

I wish I was the only one worried about the game, my dad, my two brothers, my mom, and my sister were all asking if I knew the game was at night. They wanted to know what the plan was and if we had time to get to a TV to watch the game. haha I thought I was the only one who wanted to see it, but didn't care too much. But once I heard they wanted to watch too, I wanted to try to slip it in the time frame if I am coherent anyways. lol

Well I got back yesterday. Before I left I had said Vegas was not on the top of my vacation list but it would be nice to go. After I went I loved it, it was great in all aspects.

The ceremony was nice, only about 24 people were there. But it was still very nice. The reception wasn't as big as most wedding receptions are but ours was great because the immediate family was able to get familiar with eachother because it was so small.

When it comes to the Notre Dame game, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was to go watch it. After the reception, because it was only 3 hours long, we headed to a nice sports bar. The brides family didn't care much because they weren't hanging out with us after the reception anyways. I was already half gone during the game and by time we made it to the tv it was already 21-0. We also ran into a group at the bar that were from Plymouth,IN, so that was kind of cool.

One of the best parts of Vegas were the Sports Books. I was in heaven, I am not going to lie I was almost late to my own wedding because my dad, brother and I were at the sports book. There was literally 30 tv's or so with nothing but football on them. There were a couple with horse racing but I didn't pay attention to them . Everytime a group would cheer everyones eyes would bounce around to a tv to see which game had something going on.

That is all, I guess, but Vegas is a beautiful city in my eyes. Love the lights and the constant party atmosphere.

Whats the big idea getting married during football season?! Just kidding

Congrats man, just wait till the first kid! Definitely take a year or two to enjoy marriage and spend the time with the wife, but kids are a joy. I didn't know how I would respond when I first found out my wife was pregnant, but man...the last year has been amazing. Little things like my daughter smiling at me when she first wakes up each day, it puts me in a good mood and melts the heart.
