God bless Troy.
Not only are they 1-6 under him, but he posted blowout losses to Texas St, South Alabama, and Memphis.
That dude was gifted one of the most experienced offenses in FBS last year, fairly solid aside from the WR position being young after injuries, and absolutely choked a winnable OSU game away and lost to a Clemson team we destroyed the year prior. Louisville turned out to be not very good too, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt given the team was running on empty.

I will always wonder if Freeman would have brought him back had Troy not come calling.

I don’t understand the attitude of the ND fans towards Parker. He seems like a good hard working fella. If it doesn’t work out for him why rub it in.
For many, I think "war daddy" may have been a bridge too far.

In a year where Michigan faced a weak ass playoff lineup and won the whole thing...it could have been us if we had a competent OC.

Yeah but what’s he going to do reject his dream opportunity when it’s offered to him?

Michigan had 13 players drafted into the NFL from that team. There are going to be several more in the 2025 draft as well who were on that team.

That's stupid Miami early Bush Gore Century levels of talent, however bad we want to hate them.

I'd pump the breaks on that statement...recent UGA has the record no less those Miami/USC teams 2000-2005 not only had players drafted but ELITE players drafted at both levels.

Their offense was just above Iowa levels. I think that's the part people like to focus on. Defense was elite that much is sure.

Be that as it may, 8 of those 13 guys were drafted on offense. I think the part people focus on is sign stealing and the other three teams in the playoff being weak.

That team will wind up having two dozen players on it who were drafted into The League is the point I'm making. Maybe all of this ends up being true at once, but they beat a Saban Alabama team and had 13 dudes picked by NFL teams. That's all legit.

Some of it because he wasted an opportunity for us and for Sam. Don’t like to see someone fail up like someone currently in the spotlight. With that said I thought it was a blessing that for some unexplained reason Troy came calling. Maybe they felt that Parker would be a good fall guy and destroy what was a good team in a single year. He pre ND time and post ND time just confirms we suffered with him. Doesn’t make freeman’s judgement look very good either. Hard to fault him for hiring Denbrock though despite a below average start for the offense. Not a good look for ND coaching tree when someone like Parker is out there shitting the bed. If he can rebound next year and have a winning season then more power to him. He should be making enough money to retire during that stint if he plays his cards right.

Clearly Ludwig backed out of the OC job when he realized that he would have to deal with Gerry Parkour on his staff.

I'm with Gower. I watched J.J. McCarthy play, he wasn't a 1st round QB. He's closer to a 4th round Stetson Bennett, if that. Some players get drafted based on good records. There's a reason he's bottom of the depth chart in Minnesota. He did have a pretty elite defense backing him up (Although they got there initially by cheating), and he had a good OL with a back. He's never been real impressive, just a solid game manager that had an Easy Mode button for 2-3 years basically. If we had a decent OC last season instead of Porker then we win the OSU game for sure, probably win Clemson, and we could have had a legit shot against Michigan in the playoff.

Regardless of the NFL talent they may have had, we could have played them in a close matchup if you look at performance against similar opponents. Our defense last season was just as elite, we had a comparable or better OL, we had a superstar back. It would have been a good matchup if you trade Parker for anyone who knew what they were doing. That Michigan team is often ranked toward the bottom of the barrel when it comes to most impressive winning teams of the playoff era, they were a far cry from the Alabamas and Clemsons in their prime. Lets not forget that Michigan team lost to TCU the year prior, and TCU got prison sexed by Georgia two weeks later by 60 points. It was that weak playoff lineup that allowed Michigan to skate by.

I am not a Michigan fan or McCarthy fan by any means but it's insane to me how often guys just say stuff without knowing what is going on. McCarthy isn't buried on the depth chart he is out for the year with a knee that that happened in camp while he was splitting first team reps with darnold
Plenty of folks still red-assed because Irish didn't offer him.... he WOULD have been Irish if offered IMO.

Eh, it's par for the course.

Two dozen guys getting drafted into the NFL says a little something about something, even if it's Michigan, but whatever. Conscious bias is a motherfucker. I'm often as guilty of it as anyone.

2-2 and blowing the lead and losing to Clemson looks like a much worse loss than Memphis. Haha, crazy.

ohhh wanted to let everyone know....When we were on my son's official visit, we were at dinner talking about me being an ND fan and something came up about Troy...Then coach seiler (d-coord ODU) said he used to work w/ Gerald at West Virginia. I said, was he ever calling plays himself.....he laughed and said no! no! and shook his head...i said there had always been skepticism about it..then said no once again
