I'm not convinced that what has happened at Missouri isn't Eli Drinkwitz' influence on the offense, TBH.

There are plenty talented up and coming OCs out there in addition to Moore, but MF needs to decide what he's going to do for OC and as soon as possible after the Stanford game. I think Parker/Gino (what ever % split in OC play calling duties) still need to prove they can make adjustments in a game we're initially getting clobbered in and have the O then excel and win, which to date, we haven't seen. Will Stanford afford us that opportunity? Likely not, unless we are stinking the joint up next Saturday. I hate to say it, but I almost want Stanford to win in a close one where the O struggles so that the OC open question is settled once and for all and we rip off the band aid whereas if they beat a not so good Cardinal team, the analysis could be paralysis and they may end up deciding to give it another year which would really suck

I don’t know if he called the plays, I actually missed the game was busy coaching a lacrosse showcase. But Gino took over coordinating the passing game after the Clemson game. My understanding is that everything is his design now, and basically he was tasked with scheming guys open + using more play action. Not sure how much a collaboration it is or isn’t.

I saw multiple times that you could tell a paly was being called and Parker was sitting there saying absolutely nothing.

First half was still pretty clunky and stuff still seemed “hard.” We were subbing > 90% of the time after each play in the first half, which we’ve done almost all year.

I think this has been part of the problem. We get no flow with our own players and we don’t make the defense be multiple in the same formation without getting a chance to sub. 2nd half seemed to run more plays in a row without subbing along with more aggressiveness that you mentioned and it opened things up.

The players HATED Chip Long. There was going to be a full on mutiny if he didn’t get demoted (Tommy called the bowl game his last season, IIRC).

He hasn’t done well since he’s left and it would be a bad hire.
