Parker and ND can't really prove much to anyone at this point can they?

Saturday, it was "only Pitt." Clemson, Wake and Stanford are all games most will expect ND to win. If they fail to perform to expectations, Parker sucks. If they are impressive, well, none of these teams are any good.

It's a no win situation as far as optics and perception go. People have already made up their minds that they want a new OC next year and Parker is inept. My advice is clear your schedule and watch an early Big Ten game. You'll see what pathetic offense and play calling looks like. There are a lot of Power Five teams not far off from Iowa offensively, be assured.
There is definitely a portion of the fanbase that is ready for Parker to be gone no matter what. It’s the era we live in unfortunately. We’ve all rightly criticized the play calling but I suspect most of us on this board were open to improvement…especially considering the late bye weeks.

If he can show offensive improvement these next three games regardless of opponent & then build to a crescendo in a bowl game vs a ranked foe, he’ll be back. Hell, if he can put together a scheme that gets ND over 30 vs this Clemson defense, I’d be thrilled. Even w/ some key players out, this Clemson D is better than most ND has faced this year.

The one thing that’s out of both Parker’s & Hartman’s control is the lack of experienced WR room. We will never know if that could’ve made a tangible difference. I have to hope it would’ve considering how well Hartman’s career went at WF when he had guys who could win contested balls or make a back shoulder reception.

Just beat Clemson

Being bad at your job in year 1 is understandable. Showing zero improvement when you can theoretically not do worse is unacceptable.

MF keeps him he's soft and will never win here. Zero 1st down PA passes in 1st half.

Every play whether successful or not seems incredibly hard and it’s felt that way most of the year.

I remember saying the exact same thing about Rees last year. Feels like if all 11 guys don't do their jobs to perfection, the play has no shot.

At least with Tommy
We knew that there were 2 or 3 drives coming where he would justify all the offensive genius talk.

With this dude every drive seems to be how much can he make himself look dumber.

To be fair, run plays can feel that way because you are scheming a play for a single player/option.

But our pass plays are just...sad.

Everyone mentions the lack of quality PA and they are right. When your skill guys can't get themselves open, you can still scheme them open and we fail to do that regularly.

If you simply look at scores/PPG it's unimaginable how lucky Parker is that the defense scores/picks everything off all the time. That and two special teams TDs.

We had 7 blocked punts last year that directly led to almost 40 points.

Yes, Tommy was also worse than looked on paper.
Apparently he also felt comfortable with the QB's on the roster and advised Freeman to not go all out for a grad transfer. Freeman should've overruled him, though.
