Great points, but what have you seen that says Flores is more talented than faison?… that’s the best play a wr has made for nd in 3 weeks… he beat man, Flores can’t beat man. Faison is clearly faster and quicker

I’m sure Flores is a better blocker, but that’s not talent
Simply going by recruiting rankings. I’m not a recruiting guy. As soon as they step foot on campus, rankings go out the window for me and it’s play the best man.

Faison should’ve played a ton more last night. Was more an example of the lack of in-game adjustments by GP.

I'll say this as well...I thought it was very telling when Laurinaitis left. From a coaching perspective maybe not a big lose. But there is something to him leaving, IMO.

He went back to his alma mater, where he is royalty. I wouldn’t overthink it too much.

Hard pass on Hartline. Over pay for a non play caller where OSU hasn't looked great.
Hartline is probably option 5 for me but like saban did, if you can’t get your first 4 then still get someone that’s maybe has potential … Parker has no potential, we all knew that

Faison looked awesome his sr year in hs… if he had taken football seriously all HS he would have been ranked solidly

I’m dumbfounded how he comes in, makes two great catches, one for huge td and then he really never comes back in

That day has issues
I have some decent sources at Ohio State and one of them told me Hartline wants to throw it a million times and that wasn't sitting well with the staff, Day specifically. Maybe if they had the QB, but it sounds like Hartline was not willing to change his philosophy to help the 'team'

Him, Mitch Evans, and Love should’ve been fed the ball routinely. Then when Louisville had to adjust to that, you can bring in Estime to pound it.

I like Grubb at U of Washington who has Penix in the Heisman chase or Lebby at OU who continues to be innovative with whatever QB he has to work with! Just a couple to throw out there…
Google “lebby and briles”….he wont clear lol

Potential to suck, definitely thought that.

Is there a legitimate solution? I can't imagine an established OC would want to work with Freeman, Good guy, way in over his head. Additionally does Freeman have the authority to fire? I mean, he can't hire who he wants I can't imagine he can fire who he wants. It would be a constant tit for tat if that was the case.
Sad part is, last year was the perfect time to get a good OC. You had a defensive minded head coach who was was early in his tenure. You had stability and autonomy to sell. Really blew it.

Money talks. Only way that they will get an established OC is a career “older guy” that wants $$$ or an Elko type that wants to use ND as a stepping stone. If you do the latter, then you need to also have a continuity plan for when they move on in1-3 years.

They wouldn’t do it last year, do you think the new AD will be able to make it happen going forward?

Tough situation for the Irish. My heart says get an established OC to give Freeman a better chance at success. But that comes with challenges as well. How much will an established, seasoned OC be willing to risk it for a HC that’s still in the unproven stage in his career thus far?

The other alternative is just as tough. Make the wrong call on an up and comer and Freeman is likely out.

If I were making the call, given Freeman is a defensive guy, I’m getting a seasoned OC and would hope Freeman is smart enough to let the OC do what needs to be done on that side of the ball.

I don’t think they’ll do it unless a booster(s) want to directly endow it beyond what is already allocated to that position.
