31 year old fan.
Since Jimmy Clausen left the program, I've been dreaming of a (college) QB with the talent of Sam Hartman to enter the program.
The fact that Gerald Parker ruined this season, with his completely vanilla play calling and predictability is going to haunt me forever when I look back on what this season could have been years from now.

I'll never forgive Tommy for leaving us (and mostly Hartman) in the lurch, and turning his back on his alma mater that gave him everything.
His play calls weren't amazing either. It's Swarbrick who you should blame.

He's given almost half his life to ND while enduring constant ridicule and at times death threats from fans. He left this offense with plenty of talent and experience. This is on Parker.

Bingo. Swarbrick is solely to blame for a looooot of ND's issues right now. Almost makes me miss Kevin White...
You cannot mean that. Kevin White screwed Notre Dame over so badly and almost sent them into college football purgatory

Is he even aware of who is in the backfield.lay any given time? Outside Toss calls to Estime when you have a home run hitter in Love are idiotic but alas.

In fairness to Freeman, didn't we not cough up the change to hire Ludwig away from Utah?

At the same time, have to imagine we could do better than what we're seeing...
It was billed as a “national search” with over 30 names. BS conversations with guys like Byron Leftwich that turned out to be non-options but were colossal wastes of time and cool headlines.

He got told no from his first option. Pranced around his second option, clearly, without knowing the full details. Spent so much time fucking the process up that when that fell through he went with his buddy.

He makes one rookie mistake after another but looks really good and sounds very sincere doing it.

Which, I guess, does matter some to some degree.

First two real candidates didn’t pan out so instead of continuing to look for someone qualified, they gave up.

Well, it is hard when you're not willing to pay. No one as qualified would have accepted less than Ludwig wanted. Whatever happened behind the scenes with Swarbrick and the administration, the wasted potential of this season is on them.

Regardless of Swabrick's contract mess up with Ludwig, there was no reason for Freeman to panic and hire his friend. But he did and we all just hoped it would work out. Hoping you can stumble your way into a good hire is not the recipe for success.

This guy needs to look in the mirror and honestly assess his situation. He calls plays like a 6th grader playing PlayStation.

A first time head coach with a first time offensive coordinator is a recipe for disaster. There is literally no one in the offensive room with experience enough to understand how to right the ship. It will probably get worse before it gets better because of this.

I remember someone in the media said when he was hired as TE coach that Parker is a talented assistant and a good hire as long as he wasn’t the OC.

So, we firing this bozo on Monday our during the bye week? Gotta get the OC search going soon and the new AD had better pay whatever the price is for the top candidate.

Not being able to bring in a big time OC hire is more infuriating the more you think about it. We could have offered an OC carte blanche to do whatever the fuck they wanted, as Freeman is a defensive coach, and walk into a veteran QB in Sam Hartman.

It's a 2 part problem. Admin fucked up with Ludwig, Marcus fucked up by promoting Parker.

What is Dave Cutcliffe up to these days?
That's the tough thing... I want someone in there now for immediate help, but no one is available this time of year. But I did see that David Cutcliffe is currently the Special Assistant to the Commissioner for Football Relations at the Southeastern Conference so give him a call. Read this impressive fact in his profile. Eight quarterbacks whom Cutcliffe coached in college have gone on to play in the NFL: Heath Shuler, Peyton Manning, Tee Martin, Eli Manning, Erik Ainge, Thaddeus Lewis, Sean Renfree, and Daniel Jones.
