Sorry if already discussed but any injury update on Flanagan? Twitter didn’t make it sound good when it happened

Still can't believe the boys did it - shit is like a dream.

And it absolutely sucks that we finally win the "big one" in the new format where we have to win 2 more games to get a natty.

I usually hate first take but they just had a 20 minute long rant including the criminal Cam Newton where he doubled down on his ND hate.

I legit love how nobody is saying that since everybody can pay players now that the SEC is falling.

Shane gillis was the one with the big enough sack to say it to Saban. Who never denied it just got pissed off that he was called out on national TV
I agree, but let’s not act like it’s just the SEC. You know Ohio State, FSU, Miami, UNC, Oregon, USC, Texas, Oklahoma, hell the SMU scandal … most big programs have made payments to players.

And why is Scam Newton relevant?

This is admittedly a nit-picky post but…

“We’ve seen Notre Dame wind up in the college football playoff, play the big SEC teams, and look overmatched. It feels like it’s happened so many times over the last 15 years.”

That scenario happened once, Mike Greenberg. Twice if you change playoff to include the BCS championship. Both times to eventual champion Alabama.

This sort of hinting around facts is how the media perception of a program exceeds reality. It’s tough to make a narrative out of 3 data points, so ESPN and Mike Greenberg must exaggerate and talk about what it “feels like” rather than say ND lost to the eventual national champion 3 times in the last 15 years and didn’t look as good as them.

yall gotta watch Kevin Bauman doing it for dad bods everywhere running down the field with Harrison on his KR TD lol. We haven't seen the likes since Jarrett Grace versus OSU in the Fiesta Bowl

Some of my postgame thoughts and reflections, should you care to read ...
  • It's cliché, but this was a total team victory. The better team won the game.
    • Offensively, Notre Dame's offense stepped up and made the plays when it had to. The offensive line was going to be outmatched against their defensive line, but they battled all game and were pivotal on bleeding the clock in the 4th quarter. Leonard, frankly, was never going to throw for 250+ on them, but made some big throws and he didn't turn the ball over. Leonard also made some bigtime runs. Faison made some key catches...as did Evans. Collins ran a great route and made the key TD catch. It was always going to be difficult getting rushing yards against the Georgia front 7, but as I previously said in multiple posts, I just felt Price or Williams would be more effective than Love. Price definitely was. He had that nice run that he bounced outside (unfortunately, was called back for holding). And even Williams had some key runs where he scrapped for every yard.
    • Defensively, they really stuck together - especially in the first quarter. I was getting a little worried as they were out on the field for a long time to start the game (ND's offense wasn't moving the ball) and was wondering if they'd run out of gas. They bent, but didn't break. The edge rushers really got after Georgia's tackles. I notices a few guys making huge plays or generating momentous pressure, namely: Oben, Tuihalmaka, Hinish, and Sneed. Drayk Bowen is a bruiser. He and Kiser made some mistakes (Bowen on the busted coverage, Kiser on the offsides penalty and the PI penalty), but again, the defense didn't fold and held their own. Leonard Moore made some great plays and Gray continued to play hard all game.
    • Special teams, what more can you say? It was a flawless performance. The kicker was money. The kick returner was money. The call to sub 11 was executed flawlessly. The punters never shanked them and had a few inside the 20, which flipped the field. The punt returner didn't botch or fumble any of the Georgia punts...A+ performance.
    • Coaching, Marcus Freeman, Al Golden, and the Special Teams coach outcoached Smart and Georgia. Plain and simple. Stockton made some good throws...Arian Smith and Cash Jones had some huge catches...tip your cap to them. They called a few good plays offensively, but Notre Dame stuffed their rushing attach. Etienne really didn't do anything. Frazier had one big run and didn't do anything after that. I haven't looked at the stat sheet, but if you extract Frazier's long run, I believe Notre Dame would have held them around to 20 - 30 yards rushing. Unbelievable.
  • Notre Dame never folded. I'll admit, Brian Kelly teams in the past would have folded. They would have clammed up in the second half. When Cash Jones made that TD catch, a Brian Kelly team likely would have mailed it in and crumbled. Notre Dame was the more aggressive team. Notre Dame was the more physical team. They looked like they wanted it more, and that goes up the ladder to being coached well.
Again, great team win. Don't kid yourselves, that's a very good Georgia team out there that Notre Dame beat in all three phases of the game. Enjoy it, but also refocus to Penn State. There's still plenty of more to play for.

Go Irish and beat the ever living shit out of the most vile, disgusting, backward group of trash out there....Penn State!

Anyone remember 2009 vs Washington State. They blocked our extra point and TE Mike Ragone ran down a DB and prevented him from scoring. Similar vibe from Bauman

Maybe already mentioned, but watching the end again, Sean McDonough IMMEDIATELY chirps how this was one of Georgia’s worst recent teams, and one of ND’s best, trying to justify what we all witnessed as a fluke.

Let ND have their moment, you insufferable prick.

Agreed. McDonough was completely insufferable all game. I wanted to throw something at my TV when he was explaining Faison's illegal procedure penalty.

I just text my deceased father “We are back, baby”

There is a 100% chance someone else has that number obviously, but IDGAF.

We texted during games quite a bit. Felt right, had to do it.

Onward to Thursday

I cant wait till Stew and Bruce do their offseason coaching ranking. MF had been excluded up till now due to his small sample size of games.
He should easily be top 10 now and maybe even top 5.

Marcus Freeman was about to turn 8 years old when ND beat TAMU in the 1994 Cotton Bowl.
