It is worth noting that ATH Shane Gillis #00 is out this week due to tailgating on the injury report!
Saw that posted on the FB. The presser is good, the picture is great!

they were absolutely cooking with this until the speech bit in the locker room, that bombed unfortunately

I think that was the whole point though. Obviously they forced the team to give no reaction. It's Norm Macdonald-esque with the uncomfortable nature and he just keeps pushing on. Maybe something else could have worked better there for most people, but it did make me laugh. It probably didn't just fit well given the rest of the flow.

[EDIT] Just watched it back, love the stand up portion more now. Who is the player just depanning the shot after Gillis says "Saw you guys play the other day, you could have used a 5th down <immediate regret>." The deadpan stare got me, and then Freeman just shaking his head!

I believe that’s Rubio.

Guys I'm sorry to be as aggravating as chiggers, but my son and myself are coming to South Bend. Any recommendations on a hotel? We're driving up from Chattanooga. Don't wanna spend a fortune. Just sleeping there. Just looking to enjoy South Bend. Thanks. Go Irish. Last thing on my bucket list. Not trying to use this, but fighting cancer. Probably won't ever get another chance. Thanks fellas

Sorry to hear, but glad you are able to get through your bucket list and share it with your son.

Are you coming up on a football weekend or otherwise? The DoubleTree downtown is very reasonably priced and is fine - nothing fancy, but the rooms were recently renovated and its fairly central downtown.

The hotels in Eddy St Commons, or the Inn at St Mary's are slightly more expensive but close to campus, but often get very expensive during football weekends.

I usually come from Ohio from the east so I don't have much experience in that direction. We usually stay Friday night about an hour from campus, Angola in this case. The rates are usually cheaper since it's not right near campus on a game weekend, I'm sure there's probably something similar on State Route 31 if you're driving. I would check out this thread if it's your first time, there's some good info there already (Even if some of it's outdated) and your questions may get answered faster there:

If you're up for walking I would at least check out the dome, grotto, and basilica as they're all closely located. If you're into bagpipes they perform around 11:30am at the steps of the dome (If it's a 3:30pm game). The marching band also gathers there about an hour before kickoff and plays/marches on their way to the stadium. If that's too much of a walk, you can also sit and watch them go by (You'll know the path they're going to take as people will form lines along the sidewalk near the stadium). The energy as they play is amazing, and there's something about the acoustics of those brick buildings as the sound reverberates off them.

Also, fuck cancer in particular. Kick it's ass and come back for more games!
