His first year starting, Crist wasn’t awful. He had moments, but that team was absolutely rough! He didn’t make any amazing plays that I can recall, but he certainly wasn’t the (only) issue with that team.

Then he tore his patella against Tulsa and just never recovered. The first of that long line of QBs to never make a leap in year two under BK.
The only throw I really remember being "wowed" by was against scUM in '10 when he threw a rope from his own endzone to Kyle Rudolph at like the 50, who eventually took it in for what was about a 96 yard score.

Easy to forget because that was the first game we made Denard look like Robert Griffin III and couldn't stop him. Blew a late 4th Q lead.

Ha. Watched that game at a bar in Chicago with a couple of my former roommates. When that play happened I joyfully declared "we're gonna win this fucking game!" A half hour later I was punching street signs on the walk home.

I feel ya man. My college roommate was a skunkbear fan. I couldn't escape the Denard BS until 2012 when we finally made him look like the below average QB he was. Great athlete, but our DBs fueled his September Heisman hype each and every fall until 2012 when we forced 5 TOs off of him.

His recollection of players is insane. Elite ball knower

Impressive. As he said, goal is to get the most obscure names as possible. Boyd Dowler was a great pull…and should probably be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

I play the baseball IG every morning. I try to get my total score as close to 1 as possible. Very difficult when it involves expansion teams b/c there’s not a lot of players to choose from that are obscure.

Did I hear correctly…Gruden referred to Brian Kelly as Kevin Kelly? I think he added a ‘D’ to Chris Zorich’s name likely confusing him w/ former NFL safety Michael Zordich

Bunch of guys on those Lombardi teams who didnt get in are probably worthy. Problem was there was just too many great players on the same squads. The Jerry Kramer campaign took decades before he got in

I think football is difficult b/c it’s not numbers driven as much as MLB. Saw a good YouTube video where they picked the most worthy HOFer on each NFL team (obviously concentrating on guys who have been on a ballot & aren’t future shoo-ins)

NFL tried to ban those this week but i guess now teams just arent allowed supply them but players can use them if they purchase their own. Kinda dumb
I think they have a very valid point that taking smelling salts after you get your bell rung can mask the symptoms of a concussion. But let the boys play

I remember seeing a small box of smelling salts in my parent’s medicine cabinet as a kid and not knowing what they were, My dad had apparently kept them from his time as a medic in the Army. I followed the instructions, crushed the capsule and took a deep breath. I also remember regretting my decision as a nine year old………
