Also doesn't think DMC leaves for now, but could change if the right opening comes up.From Singer on the DC search:
" I truly don't know the direction Marcus Freeman wants go for DC yet. I'm not sure Freeman knows just yet. It feels like a good opportunity for an in-house move for Freeman since he's got three years under his belt as a head coach, including this season which felt like 2 years.
Mickens is getting most of the discussion publicly, and I could certainly see him getting promoted. Something to watch could be a co-coordinator situation with Mickens and DL coach Al Washington. My gut tells me that we'll either see that or Freeman go back to hiring what Tim Hyde and I call the gray-hair factor (getting another experienced, long-time coach)."
I don't know Polian personally, and I could see some of what was said being the case...but some of it doesn't jive. He only wanted to go after white players with a certain GPA, region, etc? He was one of the big reasons we landed Manti. Polian has had some kind words towards Notre Dame too since leaving. People basically called him out when we made the playoff and he fired back how he loved the university and wasn't asked to be retained by Marcus' staff, which is why he followed BK. Said he's got a lot of friends still at the university and would never trash them. Again, don't know the guy personally, just feel like he's gotten a bit of a bad rap from fans when he made some (Up and down) contributions to special teams and certainly recruiting.
As far as Powlus, I don't know him either, but this is the first I've ever heard anything negative about him. Seemed like he always represented the university well, and he's worked for us for a number of years now. He's spent almost 20 years at ND at this point between college, coaching, and working in the athletic office. If he's had a performance issue I would think it would have come up sooner. At one point he was highly thought of, but that came from earlier in his career. I haven't heard anything recent.
I've never really heard a thing about Bivin in his administrative role, but then again the poster didn't really explain why he didn't like him either. I think we need more details. Again, hard to believe a guy that had 3 heart surgeries at ND, chose to come back to work in the athletic office...AND brought his brother to the team as an offensive analyst would have some kind of axe to grind against ND or be some kind of malcontent.
So fun story on Bivin. I sat directly across from him and another couple while I was out to dinner. It was the week leading up to ATM. Most of the night he was answering questions his friend asked about the program. He mostly shit on everything Freeman was doing. He was very critical. Sounded like a disgruntled employee.
I’m feeling emotions.I will believe our very own Granger. Two people saying Bivin isn’t a great team player within the football facility is probably more than a nothing burger…
Was it the guy who went to UCF? Remember one OL with a pretty douchey commitment video but maybe it’s because I’m old.Was it this attitude that led to some shitty/asshole players joining the team in that era? I'm thinking Shembo more for his actions and then the guy (I can't remember his name, I think a white OL or DL from TX) that BK had to end up quietly helping to find a new team/home. There were stories that he was an absolute asshole and cancer on the team.
Parker bordeaux or some shit like that who went into pro wrestling or at least triedWas it the guy who went to UCF? Remember one OL with a pretty douchey commitment video but maybe it’s because I’m old.
That’s the one.Parker bordeaux or some shit like that who went into pro wrestling or at least tried
No, it wasn't PB - I remember him. That’s the one.
Sorry, didn’t mean to indicate he was an asshole (might be a great guy), that’s just the guy I was thinking of.No, it wasn't PB - I remember him.
I think you're referring to Grant Blankenship? I haven't heard of those rumors but it fits the geography and the way he kinda just left with not much ever said by the beatNo, in terms of the white guy, he was not a solid starter but some here on IE reported he was just an absolute dick on the team; and then he got into some trouble and BK had to help him find a new team. And pretty sure he was from TX but cannot recall his name.
This is the correct name. Also Jalen Guyton had a super weird ass situation tooI think you're referring to Grant Blankenship? I haven't heard of those rumors but it fits the geography and the way he kinda just left with not much ever said by the beat
That's the one and I believe he was the player against whom a female student at Notre Dame filed a lawsuit via the Title IX office in Fall of 2017, accusing the university of mishandling and then trying to cover up her allegations of sexual assault against a football player (pretty sure this was Blankenship) by suggesting she close the case so he could transfer. And then BK finally helped him to transfer out of ND.I think you're referring to Grant Blankenship? But the info completely lacks information..... Sounds about right.Singer, the recruiting guy, has inside info on the DC search? Ok
Again someone on here said he was an absolute dick to his teammates. Sounded like he was a miserable SOB.That's the one and I believe he was the player against whom a female student at Notre Dame filed a lawsuit via the Title IX office in Fall of 2017, accusing the university of mishandling and then trying to cover up her allegations of sexual assault against a football player (pretty sure this was Blankenship) by suggesting she close the case so he could transfer. You could be right because he transferred out as well, but I thought his departure was for more having a bad attitude and being in BK's dog house. Sounds like what happened from this article Still, Blankenship sounded like a real asshole.Actually I thought that specific accusation was against Guyton
He’s been wrong and/or walked back things for weeks now
I know these two have been right about some leaks (that many guessed at with no info), but I really don’t think they speak for the state of the program
You are conflating the two. Blankenship was accurately stated above. ALLEGEDLY. Guyton was the one where something like a professor of female studies was pimping him to her daughter and then watching and he blew the whistle on it. ALLEGEDLYActually I thought that specific accusation was against Guyton
