Why the gulp? This is standard operating procedure, yes? Or gulp, since this is an opportunity for more things to go wrong and once an ND fan, thrice snake-bitten?

If some of the rumors we heard about this past week are true it will likely be announced today. So I'm bracing for that.

Why not in front of Dillon Hall as tradition dictates?

Man Jaylon going up to Wimbush telling him to take off his headphones was cool as hell.

Was playing around with the class calculator on 247. I think we have a legit shot at a top 5 class with 2 5 stars in Hamlin and Betiku. Plus, Alloway and Vaughn are very high on ND. Add in Burton and a few other pieces, and it seems that we would end up with a top 5 class. It may be a dream, but I think these guys all have legitimate interest.

to me, i think it was waaaaay to scripted---didn't seem real life to me...only 1 person had them on in the video...jaylon the guy who got called out by the military people for not leading people right and then at the end makes it too much like a fairy tail ending...not buying it

If it's on tv, it's true.

Agreed. It was scripted but I still enjoyed the majority of it. I just like seeing the team.

Stopped reading half way, seems his thinking was still bcs based as far as a conf champ should be in playoffs no matter what. Like they had a bowl no matter record.

I think a lot of folks would love to see an 8 team playoff with conference champs getting an automatic ticket.

A piece by wiltfong was pretty cool regarding the addition of Sanford....thinks this is Kelly evolving as a coach as Bk even said the reason for bringing him in was to flip the room upside down....just meaning they have been coaching this way for25 years and sometimes you just do things because well that's how youalways have done them....so Sanford being here has made Bk question a lot of things...I really feel like BK has taken that next step...here's hoping it's not the beers in me talking

This may have been posted before... but here is the hands-down worst season preview ever made:

College Football 2015 Season Preview

I know a lot of time must have gone into creating this season preview and some of it is meant to be humorous, but even a little bit of good journalism could have helped. Entertaining none-the-less.

I'm really hopeful about that as well. Kelly has played things close in terms of coaching hires, he rarely goes outside of his circle but when he does it's been very good for us. Hiestand was a great hire, BVG started out to be a great hire (when was the last time we blanked Michigan? I'll tell you, never). Let's hope Sanford brings the fire to this offense.

Thinking we'll see BVG show us some good stuff this year. Lack of rush, and Qs at S will limit him, but overall I think he'll do a fine job this year so long as he can get folks in and out as needed, or find folks that can play different looks successfully.

On the recruiting side, I was optimistic BVG would pull in some A1 D talent this year. Not so impressed thus far for 2016. I guess win in 2016, and 2017 will prove out.

I think we must give him credit and wait to see them play. Crawford wouldn't have been given a scholarship under Diaco and he was immediately being penciled into the nickelback role as a true frosh who didn't ee. Coney is receiving great reviews as is Coleman. Let's just wait and see. I believe BVG and the staff know how to evaluate talent, I just want to see how they perform against the different offenses on our schedule.

I also think winning will greatly boost our recruiting efforts to finish out 16 and jump start 17

The 10 Most Delusional Fan Bases In College Football Ahead Of The 2015 Season | College Spun

#1 Michigan

1. Michigan

Plenty of programs have something positive to look forward to in 2015. None with the history of Michigan replaced an incredibly unpopular athletic director, fired an unsuccessful coach, and brought in one of the best coaches in the NFL, who just happens to be an alumnus who played for the program’s most legendary figure. Oh, and he built Stanford into a legitimate national power. We TOTALLY get why Michigan fans are ecstatic about the Jim Harbaugh era, and they should be. Harbaugh is both a safe bet to be a very good coach—he’s been that at every stop during his career—and he understands what it takes to succeed at Michigan. He is the very definition of a “Michigan Man.”

Michigan fans should be thrilled about everything that went down this off-season, and high long term expectations are very reasonable.

Just don’t jump ship when Ohio State waxes the Wolverines by 32.

Jim Harbaugh is a great coach, but he is not Merlin. Michigan’s roster has serious holes all over the place, especially at quarterback. The spot where UM is experienced, offensive line, is also where the Wolverines have been very bad in recent seasons. The 2014 defense was pretty good, but has to replace a few important starters like middle linebacker Jake Ryan. Michigan’s schedule is also not exactly set up for success. The Wolverines open up at Utah, a very good Pac-12 team, and host Oregon State and a tough BYU squad out of conference. Ohio State and Michigan State are brutal games in the Big Ten, and Maryland, Minnesota, Penn State, and Rutgers are all peer programs at the moment.

Under Harbaugh, Michigan very well may return to being “leaders and best” on the football field. Just don’t expect it to be 2015. The climb back to the top isn’t an easy one, even with a great coach.

#2 Notre Dame

2. Notre Dame

Many would say that you can put Notre Dame fans on this list every season. They might not be totally wrong. It has been decades since Notre Dame’s last national title, but Irish fans fancy their team a contender every season. Last year, they were excited about the return of Everett Golson, the quarterback that led them to the BCS National Championship Game two seasons earlier. Golson has graduated and will play his last season at Florida State, but Notre Dame fans are now excited to replace him, after an unbalanced 2014 season, with Malik Zaire.

While Golson played the vast majority of snaps in Brian Kelly’s offense last season, Zaire shined splitting time with his predecessor in a dramatic Music City Bowl win over LSU. He complete 12-of-15 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown, and added another 96 yards on the ground. His, and Notre Dame’s, performance was extremely encouraging, but it also followed a four-game losing streak to end the regular season for the Irish, which included disastrous losses to Arizona State and archrival USC.

Zaire is an exciting prospect at quarterback, and the Irish will complement him with some very strong weapons like Tarean Folster and Will Fuller on offense. The defense is also veteran-laden, though the jury is out on how effective it will be. Last year’s unit with 84th in scoring defense and 73rd in total defense nationally. Do those things add up to a big time bowl game or even, as the AP’s Ralph D. Russo predicted a week ago, a College Football Playoff berth? We’re sorry, Irish fans, but we don’t see it.

I know a lot of talk has been concentrated on BVG, but I am really excited to see how the input/coaching of Sanford, Denson, and Lyght plays out. I will pay very close attention to this years' offensive play calling vs the past 5 years with Sanford here.
