I was talking with my dad about how well our front 7 is doing this season and I mentioned incoming freshmen that will help reload. Jarron jones came to mind from last year. Size is very similar to Tuitt...too much talent to throw him in there or is he going to be another "surprise" we unleash next year?

Can't compare him to Tuitt. Tuitt is a freak. And I don't understand your question.

I understand it. But also agree with above poster. I loved Jarron Jones and hyped him, but Tuitt is a freak and unlike many other.

That was awesome. I miss off-season workouts (I played hockey). They were always the most fun.

I think he breaks into the rotation next year.

Imagine a front 3 of Tuitt, Jones, and Springmann along w/ Ishaq moved up on a passing down. 6'5-6'6 across the board will get a lot of batted balls.

After listening to those interviews I get even more excited because these guys know they're good, realize they've been killing opposing offenses but still want to get better. Dominate is the word that comes to mind

Coach Martin's interview was one of the most informative and harmonious-to-what-we-think-we-knew interviews that I've heard from a coach at any time. Amazingly clear about nearly everything, and unusually frank albeit well and positively worded always.

Keivaree's interview was on another level of freshman maturity and confidence-without-braggadocio than almost anything I've heard.

We may not quite be where we want to be yet, but we have people who look like we'll get there.

“@BGI_DanMurphy: #NotreDame is now the only team in the country that not given up a rushing touchdown this season.”

A series from ITI

Breaking down 4-0: The front seven | Inside the Irish
OVERALL
With Manti Te’o leading the way for the linebackers and Stephon Tuitt wreaking havoc up front, the front seven is the undeniable strength of this football team. With a defensive front that rolls through young talent, and a linebacking group that seems like it’s hitting its stride, the defense could be poised to power this football team, and faces a nice measuring stick next Saturday against Miami.

Breaking down 4-0: The receiving corps | Inside the Irish
OVERALL
It’s clearly been a step back in the passing game, which has been expected. With a bye week to get some things straightened out, and the nation’s No. 100 defense waiting for them in Soldier Field, the Irish hope to get on track with some better execution at the quarterback position.
Even with Eifert being held mostly in check this season, the unproven Irish receivers are playing better than expected, with solid contributions from veterans while the youngsters get accustomed to life in college football.

#NotreDame opponents lined up 115 times inside the red zone this season and netted a total of 116 yards. Story coming later tonight.

Was just looking at next year's schedule. Anyone notice we have 2 bye weeks? Is that out of the ordinary? I looked back to 2007 and didn't see that happening before.

Saw some guy post this on an ND facebook group, from reddit.

True story about my first encounter with Louis Nix, who lived down the hall from me in Alumni Hall last year:
It was fall break and the campus was silent. Students in Alumni Hall were with their loved ones for Fall Break, but more likely were getting plastered somewhere because they're all bros. Our hall mascot is the "Dawgs." Me, well I participated in this seminar the week of Fall Break so I was gone for only three days. Since you need special permission to stay in the dorms during breaks, I wasn't expecting anyone to be in the hall when I came back Thursday morning. Everyone but football players of course, since they had a big game coming up against USC. So I come home late one night (around 1AM) after hanging out with a friend off campus. And one my way to my room I decide to use take a ****. I turn the corner and walk in, only to see a giant guy, butt naked, looking himself at the mirror. He had one leg held up by a chair (think Captain Morgan) and was flexing while grinning emphatically. Then, our eyes met through the mirror. I stood still for one second, trying to comprehend what I was seeing. I slowly backed away and continued back to my room, only to hear Louis Nix whisper quietly, "****."
And that's my first encounter with the awesome Irish Chocolate. I love the guy - funny and has a heart of gold.
