CLEMSON - @UNCFLORIDA ST —- @SOUTH CAROLINA
It’s very likely they go undefeated into ACC championship.

ALABAMA - @TEXAS A&M —- LSU —- @AUBURN
If they take one L here, Georgia runs the table & gives them a 2nd L in the SEC Championship that would be ideal for us.

LSU - FLORIDA —- AUBURN —- @ALABAMA
One takes a loss here (Bama/LSU) If the other wins the SEC Championship does a 1 loss Bama/LSU get in over a 1 loss ND (assuming everything else works out for us)

OHIO ST - Wisconsin —- Penn St Rest of schedule is a joke.
Either Wisc and OSU should meet twice.

OKLAHOMA - @TEXAS —- @KANSAS ST —- @OK ST
The way Hurts is taking advantage of BigXII defenses, I’m not sure anyone will keep up.

AUBURN - @FLORIDA —- @LSU —- GEORGIA —- ALABAMA
Brutal stretch... Ideally they drop Georgia & wreak havoc on a few others.

WISCONSIN - @OHIO ST —- IOWA
They drop one and they’re done.

FLORIDA - AUBURN —- @LSU —-GEORGIA —- SOUTH CAROLINA
I see them dropping at least one.

Obviously we have plenty of avenues to the playoffs, granted we win out.

One difference this year though... in my opinion... we need to win out CONVINCINGLY.
If we let Bowling Green, Duke or BC hang around we’re not getting in over a 1 loss SEC team or even a 1 loss Oklahoma.

Side note.. the Hurts vs Bama storyline scares me if OU drops a game and somehow we end up in a 4th spot argument with them.

Let’s keep track of these games & hopefully it unfolds to our advantage.

Style points are going to matter. We need to defensively look like the defense that showed up to hold Georgia in check plus Georgia needs to look dominant in most if not all of their games. Plus, when JAfar and Young return they need to ball out to show we are much better with them in the lineup. We have a chance. I just want to piss off that baggy eared DB Finebaum.

I’m more concerned w/ ND beating UVA. This is a team that could upset ND or a lot of great teams regardless of what happened the week prior.

Moral victories suck but it’s fair to say ND earned some respect in the “close loss”. That all gets pissed down the drain if they spit the bit vs a feisty UVA. And the haters, including Finebaum (especially Finebaum) will let the world know about it.

Go Irish...beat the Hoos!

Firstly, I can appreciate the gusto for wanting ND to be the best team in the nation. I really can. Unfortunately, they really arent.

Would you really rather see an ND make its way into the playoff as a result of playing a lot of really bad teams left on the schedule only to get woodshedded again by Clemson or Bama in week 1? Do you want another year of hearing how ND had no chance and should not have been there?

Again, I can appreciate the gusto but at some point we have to be realistic here. That game vs GA was not as close as some of you guys remember. Take away the fluffed punt and we lose by two touchdowns. ND was not the better team. And GA is not Bama. GA is not Clemson.

Not to say any team cant lose on any given Saturday but realistically, when you have an OL that cannot run block and therefore, turns you into a one sided offense and then add a QB that cant throw more than 20 yards, you are extremely limited against teams with equal or better talent. Which means you lose 30-3 again to Clemson.

Hey, Im all for best of luck but it would take extreme luck, and not being a better team, to have any kind of success against Bama or Clemson, who you undoubtedly would get week one of the playoffs.

ND is a good team. Not a great team. I wish they were. Heck, I live in Bama country and I get pounded all the time by it. I would love to turn the tide on the Tide fans. But the facts are the facts folks. You dont have the horses on the field to play with the great teams this year.

I haven't seen a great team this season, including Clemson and Bama. All of them have some serious flaws right now. ND has just as much chance of making the playoffs and winning one or two games as every other team. Now, being realistic, some of those good teams will continue to improve and be much, much better by the end of the year. But why can't ND do the same? It's too early to throw in the towel.

We're never going to change the narrative if we don't get back up on that horse and give it a shot. I am not impressed by what I've seen of Clemson so far this year and while Bama's passing offense scares me who have they played? While it was 30-3 against Clemson we were three defensive plays away and two questionable overturned calls from makin this a real game. That plus Book needs to play like a Division I QB in a big game. The Georgia game was a lot better than Clemson but if he actually plays good in that game we win. Lets hope Jafar comes back soon and is a difference maker with Young.

Go big or go home!
Nothing ventured nothing gained!

Didn’t someone already make a thread about this?

I put out a week by week a few days ago including all those ahead of us, and those undefeated behind us. A little bit different, a little the same. I'll update that weekly.

Yes. This isn’t about “gusto”. This is about earning the right to take a shot. We earned it last year, and we took a shot. We came up way short, but if you want to compare woodsheds, Alabama’s loss to Clemson was arguably the outhouse of the two drubbings. You wouldn’t dare argue Alabama doesn’t deserve to be up there with the big boys, and rather than being critical of their squad, you go straight to putting down a Georgia team that everyone including multiple experts on here claimed would kick the sh*t out of ND.

So, with that said, yes, absolutely YES. If we have a shot and we’ve earned it (emphasis on both) to compete in the playoffs, the NY6 is just loserville in comparison.

Just because the big win hasn’t happened for us, doesn’t mean it couldn’t. But it 110% isn’t happening if we don’t have a shot.

No. We don't need 3 of these teams to lose 2.

Disagree. It depends who you get beat by, where you lose, when you lose, and how you lose. Home losses are much worse than road losses. Close losses are better than big losses. Also, lose a key player like QB for the season and lose one, and you'll drop farther. And some teams will get more "grace" for a loss than others. A team like OK or OSU will drop farther than a team like Bama.

In short, being 10th right now with a close road loss to a top 4 team is about the best situation a one loss team can have right now.

Any of them with one loss is in above us. So I disagree

Alabama or LSU with a loss and no conference championship game appearance will be below us. OSU or Oklahoma with one loss coming in their conference championship will be below us.

I doubt they'll put ND in over a 1 loss Alabama unless they get shit stomped in the SEC title.

I'm saying if they don't even make the championship game. They aren't going to put in a 1 loss Alabama that sat home during championship weekend over the SEC champ or a 1 loss SEC runner up that presumably beat them.

Same can be said of Georgia/Florida as Auburn/Bama/LSU

I don't see Georgia up there.

They'll beat Florida and Auburn IMO.

Bama-LSU-Auburn do their thing and Bama comes into SEC CG undefeated, aTm ain't shit,

12-0 GA vs 12-0 AL in Title.... Clemson won without a loss. Georgia win without a loss. OU takes the Big12 without a loss. Does ND get in over 11-1 Auburn, LSU, Bama?

No... Thank goodness UCF Lost.

Give me LSU again or Auburn. Win that game and we no longer get moved past by 1 loss teams. We're finally taken serious.

In agreement with you on this. ND definitely has a shot if Bama has a loss @ Aub at the end of the year.

Watch all that happen and ND get matched up with Bama in a NY6 bowl.
