The Houthis quietly but quickly acquiring territory near/around the important Bab al-Mandab Strait which could lead to attacks, chaos, and more cargo issues and oil spikes.

The attacks and growing inroads into the strait could test the defense pact signed in Mecca on Aug. 7 with regional heavyweights Turkey and Pakistan.
"Pakistan and Turkey have both said the terms of the agreement call on all members to come to the defense of the others in the event of an attack. The dizzying developments in Yemen are putting the bold assertions made by the Turkish and Pakistani foreign ministers to their first real test."
So Trump and the U.S. military don't want to get involved and have so far declined to engage with Saudi Arabia's multiple requests for help/action.
IMO, Trump and Netanyahu would love to see another strait incapacitated to contribute to more dislocation and chaos across the world and especially for the U.S.
And for Israel, this plays well into their Greater Israel plan and ambitions to develop their own vision of an Israeli-controlled shipping pipeline for Middle East oil to the rest of the world including Europe.
