My wife would literally kill me if I came home with this, but maybe some of you dudes could get away with it. The guy is located in Denver, but since it's only $500, you could afford to have him ship it out to you.

It's a motherload of ND paraphernalia.

George Riordan was class of 1955.

edit: actually he was alive as of 2011. I even found an email address. I sent him the link, just in case he wants his old trunk back. I'll let you guys know if he responds.

Depends on your love of the Irish I would suppose....

Not to be rude, but if you were to buy all the items individually I'm almost positive you could get them for much cheaper than 500. I have over 200+ ND autographs from Knute Rockne to all Four Horsemen so I know a little bit about the value of these autographs. The only wildcard here is the trunk which is a pretty darn cool item.

There's not 500 dollars worth of stuff there.

Was that suppose to be in italics? There are 82 signatures from damn near every great Irish player in history.

Justin Tuck signed footballs go for over $100 alone on ebay.
Justin Tuck New York Giants Signed Full Size Football COA | eBay

Even more in memorabilia stores. Heres one for $300+
Justin Tuck Autographed Football - COA | Authentic Signed

Those banners go for $100 on ebay all of the time.
1988 Notre Dame Fightin' Irish National Champion Banner | eBay

If you really believe that there isn't $500 of stuff there then you must not be a collector.

The chest and banners are the most expensive part of the item. And there is 1 Heisman winner there, none of the horsemen, and maybe 5 players from before 1980. The most expensive autograph is joe montana and can be found for 35. Tim Brown is usually 50+ but the to ryan dimishes the value to about 25-30. Same with rocky bleir. You also happened to pick out the most expensive justin tuck items you could find not to mention there's a big difference between full sized footballs and mini footballs in terms of price. If you search ebay for a couple weeks cheaper items are bound to pop up. Of course if you were to buy the first item you saw for every one of these signatures the prize would be more than 500, but with time and patience you get more significantly important autographs for about the same price.

I didn't "pick the most expensive Justin Tuck ball I could find", I simply picked the first one that popped up in my ebay search. Furthermore, I showed you one at a memorabilia store for over $300.

The banners are original and from the 40's and one from the 20's. Those banners are easily over $100 a piece. That's $400 (i'm not counting the small one) alone. Even in your attempt to lower the value of the signatures (which are all on photos, magazines, etc), just a few of them value over $100 BY YOUR ESTIMATION. So that's $500 of memorabilia before we even get to the trunk, the stadium figurine, the signed mini helmet, the ball with the entire '93 team autographs, the Chris Zorich signed SI mag, the '20-'30 style 7-up memorabilia (regular glass bottles from that era are valuable, none the less Notre Dame ones) bottles, etc, etc, etc.

You are simply wrong with estimating the value of this stuff under $500. Furthermore, it would take forever just to compile some of this stuff and I doubt you can even find those banners or trunk anywhere else.

Btw, four horseman autographs can go for thousands alone. So I dont know why you are judging a collection selling for $500 on whether or not they include them. I think you just like telling people you own one (I would too).

Good luck trying to track some of that stuff down individually. I would toss $500 for that easy.

The only four horsemen signature worth thousands is don miller. All others can be got for less than 200 each.(often signed book is the way to go with Layden and stuhldreher). If the banners are truly the originals 100 is reasonable but there's tons of Knock offs

I was talking about them together. I haven't ever seen a combined autograph for less than several thousand dollars. Furthermore, you can find them for much more by themselves. But my point remains, even if it had one horseman autograph, then it would be halfway to the value. It just doesn't make sense to assume you can get that much stuff for under $500 if one of the horsememan's autographs was in it.

Is your autograph one of them or all of them? I know I have seen the book signed by all of them going for over $20,000 in memorabilia stores.

My autographs are all on seperate index cards therefore decreasing the value. On abebooks.com I was able to get stuhldreher and Layden for 200 combined. Collecting memorabilia is a patient process. My point is that while 500 is not unreasonable i think you can get a more impressive collection for 500

Much like how I feel about zombies, I don't get the memorabilia thing at all. When I was young, my father worked in the sports industry, and I literally have boxes of autographs, equipment, gear, etc. Someday I'll have to go through it all and sell it off. It'll be like free money because I have no attachment to it all. Haven't thought about it in years until I saw this thread. I do have a couple things I've picked up over the years that I keep and I'd never sell, but that's because those specific things have some meaning to me. The idea of paying money for someone else's memories is so strange to me.
