Stubborn old goat couldn't call a good defensive game to save his life.

NBC focused on Tenuta up in the box in the third quarter I believe. Am I the only one who sensed that he looked completely baffled about what to do? Granted it was only a few seconds of an entire day, but I think it was symbolic of his season to date.
Granted Navy executes the triple option perfectly, but this isn't anything new to ND. What is new is that we couldn't stop it. Our players looked lost half the time and that TD pass on Blanton's blown coverage is a perfect example. Is Tenuta making them over think every play? Do they not trust their teammates to make a play and instead try to make it for them? Players weren't staying home with their reads and appeared to be covering other players assignments. on the option...who had the pitch back half the game?? The CB's were 10 yards downfield while the OLB's were taking the QB.
Navy's option isn't that difficult to figure out. You just have to execute your responsibilities. There are only two reasons why you fail to execute: either you fail to do what you are told, or your coaches fail to prepare you for your responsibilites. I wasn't at practice this week so I can't tell you which one it is in this situation.
Tenuta is not our problem...I also thought that our offense looked flat, the only time there was a spark from our offense is when we had to comeback. Tenuta is only in year #2 and Weis is in year #5, I think it's time that we look into our head coach.
Ha good point dirtysecret. I never thought we would see the day where we miss Minter. Here we are.
Another note: Tenuta IS NOT that good to be as big of an asshole as he is to the media every week
If you think you stink. The ND defenses seemed to "think" too much. Several of these boys have seen the triple option in H.S. and should understand the plan to stop it. To defend the triple option requires good tackling and discipline. The defensive staff does not make tackles, the players do. You can't always blame the coaches.

Its funny that people have all this patience with Weis but are ready to kick Tenuta's ass to the curb after a very short stint. Didnt Weis only win 3 games without Tenuta running the defense? Where were all these people then? You cant continually give Weis a pass and time if you're not willing to do the same for Tenuta. Its called hypocritical for those that care. Fire 'em both or keep 'em both.
